A Morning Devotion

Prayer 1.png I enjoy my time totally alone with God thru reading his word and thru prayer, sharing my day with our Lord as well as my hopes and dreams, But, more important I learn to “Be still and Know I am God (Psalm 46:10) to understand God desires for my own life. I have learn over many years that God truly has a better plan for me than I could ever dream possible. As I have read many times from the book of Matthew 6:5-13 as the disciples ask Jesus to teach them to pray this is what he said.

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seem by others, Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret , will reward you. And when you pray do not keep babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. This , then, is how you pray:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. This reading is thru the New International Version, each Bible can be a little different.  Also when we do have fellowship with others and we know of a need or hurt it is good to come together and pray. For when we do come together we are never alone Jesus is right with us, where two or more are gather he is always there. Prayer is a powerful tool for us as Christians, it draws us closer to our Heavenly Father.

Grace and Peace to you my friends
