God’s Love

Jeremiah 31.jpgThe Lord appeared to us in the past, “saying: ” I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.  (Jeremiah 31:3)

Our God has loved you and me since before he began laying the foundations of the universe. He has loved us since before there were plants and stars, since before there were mountains, and oceans, before there were grass blades and snowflakes. Before all that God, was already loving you and me with a love that will never ends. What’s more, he has drawn us to “himself” with loving-kindness. “Nowhere do we see that loving kindness as vividly displayed as on Calvary’s cross. There, God drew us to himself because despite his love for us, we had revolted against him. We were lost in our rebellion. In extreme love, unbelievable love, the Father sent his Son to live a perfect life in our place, to suffer our death on the cross in punishment for our sins, and to rise from death, never to die again. Because of this wonderful life, we too have eternal life.
