Time Alone With God

quietmomentswithgod.pngHow long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and dad after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me? Look on me and answer, Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death, and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice. But I trust in your unfailing love, my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he had been good to me.        Psalm 13:1-6

Putting you trust into another human it is difficult enough but for us to put our trust in God seems at times all too difficult for any of us to do. However that is what King David is telling us to do when he wrote the book of Psalm many years ago, people will disappoint us over and over however God is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow. Jesus tells us the very name is uses to address all of his children is beloved, it tells us how much he loves us, which is unconditional. He showed us the full extent of His Love by enduring humiliation, torture, and death for each of us. No greater love than this is possible or even conceivable. We have tucked into our memory many experiences of Jesus unparalleled love. He wants us to dwell on these memories. Enjoy them over and over again! This practice will help convince your doubting heart that his extraordinary love is really ours, every second of our lives. When we choose to abide in him, we also abide in his love, for God is love. As you choose to live close to him, communing with Christ more and more. His loving presence permeates our entire being. This empowers you and me to trust in Christ’s unfailing love, secure in the salvation he won for all of us.
