Meanwhile Jesus disciples urged him, “Rabbi eat something.” But he said to them.” I have food to eat that you know mothing about.” Then his disciples said to each other, “Could someone have brought him food?” My food, said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his word. Don’t you have a saying. ‘It’s still four months until harvest? I tell you, open your e4yes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. Even now the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true. I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor. Matthew 4:31-38
I began to teach Sunday School in my early twenties because I remember many who has touch my own life in my journey of faith. As I became an adult I felt it was really important to plant the seeds of God’s love in children. So between teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for almost twenty years I had the opportunity with God’s help to share his love. No I most likely never see those seeds that I have planted come into harvest time, but to me it doesn’t matter because God does. Especially during that one week in the summer is always a great opportunity to plant seeds, my church most times would have more than one hundred children each day during VBS. As a leader or a teacher or a helper we truly don’t know what a child maybe faces in their own lives, and all they longer to know is this “Does Anyone Love Me” If we as adults in the world today would stop and take a good look of how to sow the seeds of Christ into our children and other children, perhaps maybe then our children in this world would come to have a walk with Jesus Christ each and everyday, they will know that they will always have a best friend that would never let them down, rejected them in anyway. And when we begin to do this perhaps just maybe our children would not look to have sex at an early age, begin to smoke cigarettes, begin to drink, start to use drugs because when they find the missing link, the missing puzzle part in their puzzle of life which is Jesus Christ, “The Great I Am” the will come to love themselves as Christ loves them and then they too can love one another and begin to sow the seeds of Christ into the hearts of the next generation.
