If I speak in the tongues of men or of angles, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trust, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease, where there are tongues, they will be stilled, where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man (woman) I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we shall see face to face. Now I know in part, then I shall known fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:1:13
Nothing can separate you from God’s love. When you trust him as your Savior, he unites himself to you in eternal matrimony. Many things threaten to rip apart this holy bound, principalities and powers, controlling people, dire circumstances, but nothing can succeed, not even death. In fact, dying opens the way to ecstatic enjoyment of God, exponentially better than your best enjoyment here on earth! I embody not only perfect love but all the fullness of the Deity as well. In Christ you have everything you can ever want. Feelings of emptiness can serve as signals, reminding you to turn back towards him. No matter what you are doing, I can be a co-participant with you. As you invite Christ into more and more aspects of your life, you will discover a growing contentment within you. In times of adversity you can lean on him for support: in joyous times you can celebrate with him. Jesus is as near to you as a whispered prayer, even nearer. His banner over you is Love.
Grace and Peace to You My Friends
Once our hearts are tethered to his love, we can claim the everlasting hope in our sufferings. I had to pause in prayer a few days ago before I could get out of bed so that I could give it all to Him; I otherwise would not have been able to function that day. Once you find and draw from the well, you know where to go when you become thirsty; and believing does not spare us from the need to be actively quenched in this desert of challenges. We need God’s love everyday to survive spiritually. I am thankful that God’s love abounds for us.
