Here Am I, Send Me!

Isaiah 6.png

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple, Above him were seraphim, each with six wings. With two wings they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty, the world earth is full of his glory. At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. “Woe to me!” I cried. I am ruined. For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this as touched your lips, your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I, Se”nd Me!”                                Isaiah 6:1-8

These words are written by the prophet Isaiah. Although some prophets predicted future events their primary role was to call God’s people back to him. The most eloquent of the prophets, Isaiah, analyzed the failures of all nations, around him and pointed to a future Messiah who would bring peace to the nation and to the earth. After the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, he meet with the eleven disciples in Galilee, and told them what he expect them to do. “All authority is heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.” Matthew 18-19. This is know as the Great Commission in the Gospel.

For anyone who personal knows me, you know that I have been on a journey in becoming a license local Pastor through the United Methodist Church. I can truly tell you and honestly say to you it has been a difficult one as well as a filling one, during these last few years, and yet I still have so much to learn. At times I have question God more than once, Lord, are you sure you have the right person for this job, one would think to say God knows what he is doing even when I do not. I have been bless to serve in churches while their own Pastor is away and even a few months while one was on sabbatical. I once was told by a Pastor as long as I have a willing heart God is able to use me, and he has at that. I have spent many hours in prayer and search the scriptures to try to understand what God’s will for my life is, and many times these words from the book of Isaiah comes to my mind, “Here AM I Lord, Send Me. Today before our service began someone had given me something in which he had written for me, as well as another young man on the same journey. As I read these words it once again confirm what God has called me to do.

JerryJerry 3  I may never know the person or persons I have touch along my journey, I ask our Lord to use me to share the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to all who wants to know. What I can share with any and all who reads these words that I write down on my blog, you are God’s most precious gift and He loves you, simply because you are His Child. God sent His one and only Son Jesus Christ into this world that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works so that no one can boast.             (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Grace and Peace to You My Friends
