His Love Is Unshakable

Isaiah 54.jpg

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you.    Isaiah 54:10

The Lord’s love will never let you go! It has an eternal grip on you. You live in a world that is unpredictable and unsafe in may ways. As you look around, you see landscape littered with broken promises.

However, Jesus’ love is a promise that will never be broken. Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken. The prophet Isaiah is painting a picture of dire circumstances: quaking mountains and disappearing hills. No matter what is happening, His love is unshakable. You can build your life on it!

Sometimes as his children you believe he does care for you, but still find it difficult to receive His love. His love is full measure. He wants you to learn to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is His love for you. Ask His Spirit to empower you to know this love that surpasses knowledge. Break free from faulty self-images so you can view yourself as Jesus sees you-radiant in His righteousness, wrapped in luminous love.

Grace and Peace to You My Friends

  1. Good morning, Eileen,
Your point is a good one. Early in my walk, I had to train myself to receive His love, this amazing unconditional love I had never experienced before. I can see, though it makes me sad, how when someone struggles with shame they turn away from such love. It is so pure and holy. In their brokenness, they simply cant believe something that good is meant for them.

  2. Well said, thank you! This calls to mind Colossians 3:13: Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. (NIV)
To know my life is now hidden with Christ in God allows me to better see who I am in Him. My failings dim when I grasp this truth, for it is not me, but rather God Almighty in all His splendor that provides the perfect place for me: in Him!
    Pastor Chuck
