Time Alone With God

Psalm 130

I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.                 Psalm 130:5-6

The soul longs to spend time with the Lord, because it is a complete joy for your soul just being in His company. When you take delight in His Presence, you experience a foretaste of eternal pleasures that He has prepared for you. Unfortunately, the “day” tends to pull you down and your focus on routine duties often obscures your awareness of Him.

To enjoy the Lords companionship in all that you do, wait for His presence while He reveals Himself to you. Put aside thoughts of tasks awaiting you as you focus pleasurable on Him. Allow awareness of His Presence to become imprinted on your consciousness. Then move gently from the contemplative time into your routine duties and continue communing with God, and asking Him to be vibrantly involved in your work.

Having already connected with Him at a deep level, you can find Him more easily in the midst of your activities. Naturally, you will lose sight of Him at times; He knows you’re only human. But you can reconnect readily by moving towards Him in your thoughts, words, and feelings. The more you include Him in your awareness, the brighter your day will be. Your routines will sparkle with the liveliness of His company.

Grace and Peace to You My Friends
