A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me. “I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:32-33
It is natural to feel fearful when everything appears chaotic. No one likes the feeling of being out of control, without a firm place to stand or something solid to hold on to. However, when those times come, we must remind ourselves of the one fact that can stabilize us. God has a plan, and He is in control. When we’re reminded that nothing we experience is a surprise to the Lord, we can cling to hope.
Just before His arrest and crucifixion, Jesus told His disciples, “Behold, an hour is coming, and has already come, for you to be scattered. In other word, everything will look chaotic, but remember that God already knows about it and will bring stability out of chaos. And certainly, three days later, they saw the greatest victory they’d ever witnessed-the resurrection.
Friend, God is in control of all that’s happening to you today. So take heart. he has a plan for you. Cling to Him, and you will see His awesome purposes for you fulfilled.
