Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. Trouble pursues the sinner, but the righteous are rewarded with good things. Proverbs 13:20-21
Are your friends and associates godly people? If you spend time with people who are walking with the Lord, it will help you to grow closer to Him. This is because the company you keep influences how you view the situations and circumstances of your life. On the other hand, when you fail to fellowship with other strong believers, you will almost surely drift away from your heavenly Father.
So consider. Do the people you associate with meditate on God’s Word? Do they have a Christ-centered lifestyle? Do they have humble spirits and seek godly solutions to their problem? If not, then you may need to reexamine the time you spend with certain people and how they influence your daily decisions, behaviors, and opinions. Because what 1 Corinthians 15:33 teaches is true. “Bad company corrupts good morals.”
God wants you to be wise, and one way He trains you to become so is through other believers who are actively glorifying and serving Jesus. So choose your influences carefully, because it will shape the path of your life in astounding ways.
