Here Am I Lord, Send Me! A Time For Good-Byes!

Isaiah 6.jpg

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall  send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Hear am I, Send Me!”

To You My Friends:

I created this blog over three years ago because of a class that I was in for ministry. I chose the title Quiet Moments with God because I cherish my own time with our Lord, and I hope that my blog posts here has encourage at least one person to spend sometime alone in the stillness of the day with God. The words of Psalm 46:10 says “Be Still and Know that I Am God.” And  as Christians in order to hear the voice of God we need to learn to be still and simply listen.

As many of you know that I have been in journey in becoming a License Local Pastor with the United Methodist Church. It was a decision for me that was a hard one at time, trying to understand why God would call someone like myself. However, over six years ago I started with this journey, on my knees in prayer asking God all kinds of questions, as well as when I journey as a pilgrim with the Walk to Emmaus. It was there at the altar in prayer I knew what my Lord was asking me to do, and with tears rolling down my face, I said “Here Am I Lord, Send Me!”

For six years now God has used me to share his messages with my preaching, and hopefully I have grown and I will continue to grow. As I have said to many, it doesn’t matter what I have written down, but at the right moment God’s Spirit is speaking through me, and I am simply amaze how He does. I have been richly bless to be able to meet so many wonderful people in my travels as I preach at different United Methodist Churches.

In a few weeks I will continue with my learning as I will be taking a course over the next ten months or so which is Clinical Pastor Education. Where I will be traveling for classes and serving as an Interim Chaplain. It is a time where I will learn to become  effective as a pastor, serving God’s people.  God is preparing me to lead his church in the future and at this time in my life, I need to be learning, and to weed out the things in my own life that is not important at the moment. I am also bless to be able to preach more over the last few months and I need more time to be alone with God in prayer and focusing on the message he wants me to share. This is why with a heavy heart at times I realize that I need to stop with my blog. This was only for a season in my life, and there are so many of you my friends that can continue to lead others to Christ.

As Paul told us in the book of Philippians 4:4 “ Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again, REJOICE!” At this time before more classes begin for me I choose to take sometime off for me, after the two classes that I am taken at the moment will be done by September 1, and just to spend more time alone with my Lord, and not worry about the blog posts that was going up daily.

2 Corinthians 12

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in  weakness.                                               2 Corinthians 12:9

God’s grace is truly sufficient for me, for when I am weak, he is strong. I do not journey alone for Christ travels with me and what a blessing that is. I will continue to read the blog post of the ones I follow whenever I can, as well as keeping all of you my precious friends in my daily prayer.

I will end my time on here with the Benediction that I use when I preach:                             The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make his face shine on you, and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you his peace now and forever. Amen                                                                           (Numbers 6:24-26)

Grace and Peace to You My Friends

Eileen

(For I have been bless to call all of you my friends)

    1. I will not delete my blog, and hopefully if it is God’s will I will return full time to it. However for now I need sometime off in between my classes before my next Clinical Pastor Education course. I will try to post at least once a month sharing with others how God continues to use me in ministry. I have been reading your post as well as sharing on my face book page of quiet moments. It is amazing how in spite of me not posting anything I have more followers for my blog.
      Blessings my friend always
