There is still a vision for the appointed time; it speaks of the end, and does not lie. If it seems to tarry, wait for it; it will surely come, it will not delay. Habakkuk 2:3
As we listen to a talented singer, or watch a brilliant athlete, these people, so apparently effortless in their pursuits, seem born for just those things. “This is their destiny,” we think. What is my destiny? We may wonder, what was I born to do?
You still have so much life ahead of you. Whether you are young or getting older, God has not forgotten you! He has gifted you with things that will bring Him glory. Bring your talents to God, use them where you need to, and be patient for the fruitfulness. Whether or not you believe you have a specific purpose, God knows you do. And he knows just what it is, and how long, how many false starts and poor decisions, it will take you to fulfill it.
God is deeply interested in the destinies of those who call him Father, just as He is the ultimate face of the whole world. Talk to Him about your hopes and dreams. Are you waiting on God to fulfill, or reveal your destiny? Take comfort in today’s versus, and thank Him for His perfect timing. If waiting is hard, ask for His help.
