Those who say, “I love God,” and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen. 1 John 4:20
The harsh reality is that if we have hardness in our hearts toward a fellow believer, we cannot truly claim to love God. Ouch.
God told us to love our neighbors as ourselves. He calls us to be one with the body of Christ. Yet, we often find fault with our brothers or sisters in the church, to the point where we can’t find love for them at all. It’s not what God wants for us.
Have you been able to show someone love recently, even if you felt like they didn’t deserve it? If there is someone within your community of believers whom you struggle to love, pray that the Lord will give you the supernatural power to do so. It’s only through God that we can find the strength to love those we couldn’t otherwise.
