Be Honest With God

Recently God whispered in my heart, “You can talk to Me about anything.” This is a good reminder for all of us from time to time, because we have a tendency to think that we need to approach God from a standpoint of total faith and strength, pretending we have it all together, sounding eloquent in our prayers. One of the things we enjoy about a good friend is that we can be honest with them, we can tell them anything and expect them to understand. Surely we should not expect anything less from our Heavenly Father. He invites us to pour out our hearts to Him!

Where sin is concerned, we should never attempt to hide it. God already knows everything we have done wrong and He has provided for our forgiveness, but He wants us to confess our mistakes so we can release the burden of them. David said, “When I keep silence (before I confessed, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.” ) Psalm 32:3

If we are having difficulty trusting God in a situation, there is no need to pretend otherwise. Pour your heart out before Him, in total honesty, because it will give you relief and open a door for Him to help you. If we are angry, we can tell God all about it. If we are confused or disappointed or weary or struggling with doubt, we can be totally open with Him. I don’t know about you, but that makes me feel really good. You can never shock God, so try the “totally honest” approach. I think you will be glad you did.

Grace and Peace to You My Friends

  1. I’ve gotten into the habit of praying at night. I’m always anxious. Too anxious to finish tasks that never get done. The unfinished tasks keep me awake. And I’m afraid my lack of prayer in the morning is me getting ahead of God.

Instead of LGLG (Let Go & Let God) – I’m TCLM (Take Control & Let Me). Thanks for this wonderful post that my wife copied down for me. Even though I as a man tend to ignore that women really do knw their husbands well and often better than their husbands.

    1. Thanks for the reply, for me I like early morning as my time alone with God, my blog is called quiet moments with God because I value my own time alone with God which reminds me of Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God. I read different devotionals I also journal as well as learning to sit in silence to be able to hear the voice of God. For me when I do not take the time in the morning to spend it alone with God my day never seems to work out.
      Blessings to you
