As you are reading this blog post my husband and I are on our way to the cancer center in Philadelphia with our oldest daughter Victoria, to find out what the next steps will be for her in treating these rare tumors. Our journey in life is never an easy one at that, and I know at times we long for things to be a little easer. However, what comes to my mind are the words that Jesus shared with His disciples before he went to the cross. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) Jesus was warning them as well as us that the journey in our lives will be hard. In spite of the hardship we do have the faith that He walks with us every step of the way. As a Pastor I have shared with many more than once it is so easy to Praise God on the mountain top when everything is going well. However, we also need to Praise God even louder in the pit of the valley when things in our lives are so difficult. When we are scare Praise the Lord, when we are overwhelm with worry Praise the Lord.
Remember the words in Psalm 150 Praise God in his sanctuary, praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power, praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord, Praise the Lord. As my family travels on this difficult unknow road with our daughter we will continue to Praise the Lord.
