Happy is the man who is so anxious to be with me that he watches for me daily at my gates, or waits for me outside my home! For whoever finds life and wins approval from the Lord. But the one who misses me has injured himself irreparably. Those who refuse me show that they love death. Proverbs 8:34-36 (TLB)
The word wisdom is used hundreds of times in the Bible. Time and time again, we are instructed to use good judgement, to make sound decisions, to use prudence and circumspection. King Solomon made a special point to ask God to give him wisdom throughout his time as Israel’s leader. Because of this, God honored and blessed him.
The interesting thing is that wisdom is often referred to in Scripture as a “she.” In Proverbs, she beseeches us to find her, to choose her. She tells us that if we do, we will find favor with God. Spend some time at wisdom’s doorway today. True happiness is found there, and the Lord will honor your decision!
