Love Is Indispensable

1 Corinthians 13.pngIf I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountain, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoice with the truth. It always protects, always trust, always hopes, always preservers.

Love never fails. But when there are prophecies, they will cease, where there are tongues, they will be stilled, where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only reflection as in a mirror, then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain; faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.                                                        1 Corinthians 13:1-13

The Apostle Paul wrote this very practical book to address the problems of the tumultuous church in Corinth, and to give instructions on marriages, disputes, immorality, public worship and lawsuits. These practical lessons are appropriate words of wisdom for Christians still today. I choose this chapter for Valentine’s Day because it speaks to me on the kind of love Christ has for us. The very name Jesus use to address you and me is beloved, it tell us us how dearly that He loves us.  Jesus showed you and me the full extent of his love by enduring humiliation, torture, and even death for us on a cross. No greater love that this is possible, or even conceivable. We may have tucked into our memory many experiences of his unparalleled love. Jesus wants us to dwell on those memories. Enjoy them over and over again! This practice will help convince your doubting heart that Jesus extraordinary love is really yours, every nanosecond of this life and throughout eternity. When you abide in Jesus, you also abide in his love, for God is love. As you live close to him, communing with him more and more. Jesus living presence permeates your entire being. This empowers you to trust in his unfailing love, secure in the salvation that He won for us.

When I was a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man (woman) I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we shall see face to face. Now I know in part, then I shall known fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13:1:13

Nothing can separate you from God’s love. When you trust him as your Savior, he unites himself to you in eternal matrimony. Many things threaten to rip apart this holy bound, principalities and powers, controlling people, dire circumstances, but nothing can succeed, not even death. In fact, dying opens the way to ecstatic enjoyment of God, exponentially better than your best enjoyment here on earth! I embody not only perfect love but all the fullness of the Deity as well. In Christ you have everything you can ever want. Feelings of emptiness can serve as signals, reminding you to turn back towards him. No matter what you are doing, I can be a co-participant with you. As you invite Christ into more and more aspects of your life, you will discover a growing contentment within you. In times of adversity you can lean on him for support: in joyous times you can celebrate with him. Jesus is as near to you as a whispered prayer, even nearer. His banner over you is Love.

Unexpected Blessings

Psalm 8.png Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!                                                                          Psalm 8

As you read these words written by King David which can be found in the Old Testament, these words rings so true in todays world. Too many times we as humans seem to get pleasure of complain about something or someone, and we love to give ourselves a pity party every now and then. However instead of complaining to someone what if we begin to stop and realize the blessings that God has given to all of mankind. As each day gets shorter because of the winter drawing near I take walks after dark or early in the morning, and I just love to look up to the heavens to see the beautiful canvas that God has created with the stars, it is truly breath taken for all to see. I just stand still looking up and feel the wind upon my face and listen quietly for the voice of my heavenly father, and for me to say Thank You, this is just so beautiful. As I was planting the bulbs for springtime again I think what a blessing for me to see next spring the beautiful colors within each flower and knowing with the dead of the winter it will not be the end but all is asleep waiting for the beginning warmth to burse out in song to our Creator, God Almighty and all the colors will be amazing for us humans to enjoy. When the fall season begins at least for myself I enjoy the apple and pumpkin picking with my children as seeing all the beautiful colors from each and every tree. For many people it is a reminder of the winter coming closer but for me it reminds me of the harvest blessings that God has given to his children.  There are so many wonderful blessings around each of us each and everyday we truly don’t need to look too far to find them.

So on this day that God has given to you look around for his unexpected blessings he has given to you.

Jesus Has Risen

Easter 2.png

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not found the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside the,. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them,” Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; for her has risen! Remember how he told you, while still with you in Galilee: ” The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day raise again.”                  Luke 24:1-7

Light comes after the night has been long and dark. Jesus has concord death. The women was so surprise just ad his disciples were on that very day. Their sorrow has turn to joy just as Jesus has told them as he walk among them.

Dear Lord:

Our hearts have leap with J-O-Y as we remember that death could never hold you, Praise your Name. You Lord had taken our place on the Cross at Calvary our own punishment you took upon yourself because you love all of your children so deeply. Give us the words to speak to others that “You Live, and that you died for all mankind so that we can continue to make more disciples for your kingdom.

Amen

Grace and Peace to all of you my friends, on this Easter Day
