Someone Who Listens

Lamentations 3.png

I called on your name, Lord, from the depths of the pit. You heard my plea: “Do not close your ears to my cry for relief.” You came near when I called you, and you said, “Do not fear.”                               Lamentations 3:55-57

The urge to talk to the Creator is part of who we are. It was created in us by the one who made us. Because we are, because we are alive and breathing, we pray. We pray because we simply need to talk with someone and many times we simply need someone just to listen and not judge us as humans have. Sometimes our pain goes so deep within our soul, that we just don’t want to share it with others. At times, in the still quiet of a sleepless night, we need to take our worries and fears, the ones that don’t seem quite so troubling in the daylight, to someone who cares and understands. Then there are days when our hearts are so full of joy, they are about to burst, and we’ve got to share it with the one we know is responsible.

When their comes a time that you seem to be at a loss in knowing what to say, remember that the Spirit himself intercedes for you with groans that words cannot express. Some of your prayers that you consider frantic and unintelligible are actually quite profound. They rise from the depths of your heart, all the way to heaven. To form deep prayers, you need only turn toward Jesus with the concerns that lie heavy on your heart.

Jesus wants you to watch in hope as you wait for him, your Lord and Savior. Wait expectantly: confident that he will do what is best for you. The longer you have to wait, the more you must rely on your trust in him. If you begin to feel anxious, seek his help with short prayers. Jesus fill me with your peace, and he will. As you put your hope in him, his unfailing love rest peacefully upon you. Always remember that the line is always open to our Heavenly Father, and their is never a busy signal, so when you need to talk with someone, just begin talking and believe me, he is always willing to listen.

You Can Not Hide From God!

Psalm 139.pngYou have searched me, Lord and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from your Spirt? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens you are there; if I make my bed in the depths; you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. I say. “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me.” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.                        Psalm 139:1-14

It is that time once again where many of us make New Year resolutions, where some of us say, I will exercise more, get plenty of rest, eat better than I have in the past, work more when I need to do so, and to slow down and smell the roses. Take the time for your friends and family, and try and not take anyone for granted, and more important is to learn to forgive more the way that Christ forgives each of us. However instead of making all these plans and not sticking to them what if we just learn to take one day as if it is a gift from God, because you know it truly is. Yesterday is gone forever we can not go backwards and change it, tomorrow, it is not promise to any of us, however today which is called P-R-E-S-E-N-T is God’s gift to all of us. If you and I begin each day with the thought that today is a gift, maybe we will look at life a little different. Remember no matter how we might want to change any part of our life that through it all Christ will be with us every step of the way. He was there when you life began in the womb of your mother and he will stay with you until the time that you return to him for all ever. It gives me such great comfort that there is no place I can hide that Christ couldn’t find me. because he is my Redeemer, my Savior, the Alpha and Omega, my friend, and more important he is the “Great I Am” and I am wonderfully made by him.

Thankfulness

James 1.pngEvery good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change life shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of all he created.   James 1:17-18

This week we will be celebrating Thanksgiving here in America are we can take the time to remember the history behind the first Thanksgiving celebrate with the Pilgrims and Indians years ago. However, as you think of that time we learn in school do you also take the time to celebrate the many blessings that comes from our Heavenly Father, our Creator, the “Great I Am” I truly believe that too many times we as humans take for granted our blessings that we do have. Take the time to take a walk to see all the beauty that our land has to offer, the beauty that God has created for all of to enjoy. Everything that we have, everything that we own truly are God’s bless to all of his children. Try to think for a moment just imagine you standing in the presence of God, the “Great I Am” the Alpha and Omega, our Creator. His very name at times my soul shakes because I am unworthy to look into his eyes because I am a sinner. I am standing in His presence and I take my shoes off because I am standing on Holy Ground with My Great Redeemer. I can hardly breathe or simply say a word for I am totally amaze as I look into his eyes. His love for me his child, can I simply and honestly  put it into words within my heart, what I am truly feeling at this very moment at this very second.  I stand in the presence of the “Great I Am”, in His embrace, I loose all sense of time and all my problems I may have brought to him in this place as all but disappear for I am in His presence. Whenever I feel tempted to grumble I will simply go to you and simply talk it over with you. As I open up to you my Lord, give me your peace to calm my spirit down, so that all the cares of the world simply fall away. Help me to trust you by opening up to you each and everyday. I can’t wait until I become so discourage I just need to come to you with all of my concerns. As I talk it over with you, I will remember to thank you for all that you have done, for all the prayers that have been answered and the ones that will be answer in your time. My gratitude will provide a helpful framework for the things that concerns me. As you and I talk about everything, I think of looking into your face with all of its beauty and amazing light and my worries simply disappear forever. When I spend this time with you my Lord I will come away with joy and peace spending the time with you and this world that I have come to know can never rob me of that anymore.

Your Identity in Christ

colossians_quietmoments.pngThe Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities, all things have been created through him and for him.                                                  Colossians 1:15-16

You were created to become like Christ. From the very beginning, God’s plan has been to make you like his Son, Jesus. This is your destiny and the third purpose of your life. God announced this intention at Creation. “Then God said, let us make human beings in our image and likeness.” Genesis 1  In all of creation, only human beings, are made in God’s image. This is a great privilege and gives us dignity. Like God, we are spiritual beings, our spirits are immortal and will outlast our earthly bodies: we are intellectual we can think, reason, and solve problems, like God, we are relational, we can give and receive real love, and we moral consciousness, we can discern right from wrong, which makes us accountable to God. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering, And so condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.                                             Ephesians 2:19-22

It’s extremely easy to lose our identity, furthermore, to find ourselves searching all over to find out who we are. We hear stories on the news and we see it in the people we associate with. Additionally, we certainly deal with it in a very private as well as personal way we hear voices, voices which tells us and then projected into the world. We tell the world what we think about ourselves and don’t think for a minute we’re fooling the entire world. We may fool some people, but overall, we aren’t fooling everyone. We hear the voices in our heart, spirit and mind telling us good and bad. We hear the good from those who really love and care for us, we hear that good from God–yet we tend to believe the bad which comes from Satan and from those who don’t care for us. We hold onto that bad stuff. We hear things like, you’re not good enough, not smart enough, not attractive enough, not skinny enough, not rich enough, not with the right family. We’re told we’re not enough! And countless other lies. Hearing those lies long enough and your identity will be formed by it. You feel rejected. Eventually you believe you’re not enough, and they play over and over in your mind. Then we begin to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. We realize in our heart, spirit, and mind we need Jesus to help us through life. I Seek Your Face

Psalm 105.pngGive Praise to the Lord, proclaim his name, make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him, tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength, seek his face always.                                                  Psalm 105:1-4

I do not feel guilty Lord spending each day alone with you, I do not want to share this time with anyone but you, because I seek your face. I am simply responding to the tugs of divinity within me. You made me in your imagine Lord and you have hidden heaven within my heart. Much of this world is actually longing for the perfection of heaven. Sin is often a misguided attempt to fill the emptiness created by that longing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of so many of the unbelievers so that they search for heaven in all the wrong places. However, even great sinners such as myself Lord can be transformed into exceptional Christians when I have turn my passionate towards you Lord. Your love and forgiveness satisfy my soul-hunger as nothing else can, so it is good that I continue to yearn for you. I was never designed to find total satisfaction in the here and now, because I was created in Your imagine. I come to worship you for you are worthy of my praise, your name is Holy because it represents you Lord and that is who you are. I bow down and look unto the ground, since I am a sinner I feel unworthy to look into your face. However Jesus your name is above every name here on earth and in heaven that I bow to give you all the honor and glory because of your love for me. My soul dances and I sing for joy for you are the “Great I Am” the one who simply loves me because I am your child, I am the daughter of the Most high King which is Jesus Christ. So each day my soul simply longs for that time that I can run and hide and spend as much time as possible alone with you, and holding onto every word you place upon my heart to remember. And when this world of craziness seems more than I can handle, I will always remember I have a loving Savior where I can always run to and simply hide myself in thee, and “Seek Your Face.”

Changes Within

Ephesians 2-aOnce you have excepted Jesus’ invitation to become your Lord and Savior you will begin to see changes within yourself. As Paul tells us in the book of Ephesians 2:8-10 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handwork, created in Christ Jess to do good works, which God prepared in advance.

Since you have joined God’s royal family, he has brought much light into your world. However, this is only like the first gleam of dawn compared with the full light of the day that awaits you and me and all who walks on the path of righteousness. We need to understand we always need his help to get us through each and everyday of our lives. There is no righteousness apart from Jesus, but he has already secured this glorious gift for us through his completed work on the cross. As you begin your own journey with Christ by spending time with him, thru reading the scriptures, you will begin to see things in a whole new life. The things you once desire from this world you don’t care to do any longer. You begin to see other’s the way Jesus sees them with compassion, and with love. Over time we begin to stop judging others the way we did at one time, just because they are different from you. You see when you read in the Old Testament 1 Samuel 16:7 “The Lord does not look at the things people look at, people look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. Believe me I am glad he looks at me heart, because at times I seem to do what I shouldn’t do, and God knows deep down within my soul the woman he has created me to be. This is why it is so important for us to continue to read God’s word on a daily basis and not just when we feel like we should. You just don’t know it as of yet, you and I are on a quest to know Jesus more and more with each passing day. Long before we began a believer, Jesus was working to reveal himself to us. Jesus placed experiences in our lives that exposed your deep need to know me.  At times when I shared my journey with someone I say I feel as thro I am a vacuum being suck into something, and that something is to go deeper and deeper of my understanding of the Risen Christ. Even after we begin to trusted Jesus as our savior he continues to pursue our heart, which was divided by him and worldly goals. When we finally begin to seek Jesus with our whole hearts he simply rejoice with that. We have tasted his goodness and we want more. God allows suffering in our lives so that we can learn to trust him even more than we have ever done. God’s goal for each of his children is to become so convinced of his goodness that nothing can shake our trust in him. Then, our soul will be deeply satisfied as with the richest of foods.

The Family of God

1 John 3.pngGod is the One who made all things, and all things are for his glory. He wanted to have many children share his glory.             ( Hebrews 2:10a) (NCV)

In the book of the Purpose Drive Life by Rick Warren he tells us that we were formed for God’s family. God wants a family, and he created you and me to be a part of it. This is God’s second purpose for your life, which he planned before you or me where born. The entire Bible is the story of God building a family who will love him, honor him, and reign with him forever. It says, “His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure.” Because God is love, he treasures relationships. His very nature is relational, and he identifies himself, in family terms: Father, Son, and Spirit. The Trinity is God’s relationship to himself. It’s the perfect patter for relational harmony, and we should study its implications.

Isn’t this wonderful to know that we are part of a wonderful family, that in spite of any flaws in us we are simply accept because of God’s great love for ALL of his children. The moment you were spiritually born into God’s family, you were given some astounding birthday gifts, the family name, the family likeness, family privileges, family intimate access, and the family inheritance. The Bible says, “Since you are his child, everything he has belongs to you” (WOW) The New Testament gives great emphasis to our rich “inheritance.” It tells us, “My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Jesus Christ.  As children of God we get to share in the family fortune. Here on earth we are given, the riches of his grace, kindness, patience, glory, wisdom, power and mercy. But in eternity we will inherit even more. Your inheritance is worth more than gold or silver, and that my friend is something to celebrate.
