Changes Within

Ephesians 2-aOnce you have excepted Jesus’ invitation to become your Lord and Savior you will begin to see changes within yourself. As Paul tells us in the book of Ephesians 2:8-10 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handwork, created in Christ Jess to do good works, which God prepared in advance.

Since you have joined God’s royal family, he has brought much light into your world. However, this is only like the first gleam of dawn compared with the full light of the day that awaits you and me and all who walks on the path of righteousness. We need to understand we always need his help to get us through each and everyday of our lives. There is no righteousness apart from Jesus, but he has already secured this glorious gift for us through his completed work on the cross. As you begin your own journey with Christ by spending time with him, thru reading the scriptures, you will begin to see things in a whole new life. The things you once desire from this world you don’t care to do any longer. You begin to see other’s the way Jesus sees them with compassion, and with love. Over time we begin to stop judging others the way we did at one time, just because they are different from you. You see when you read in the Old Testament 1 Samuel 16:7 “The Lord does not look at the things people look at, people look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. Believe me I am glad he looks at me heart, because at times I seem to do what I shouldn’t do, and God knows deep down within my soul the woman he has created me to be. This is why it is so important for us to continue to read God’s word on a daily basis and not just when we feel like we should. You just don’t know it as of yet, you and I are on a quest to know Jesus more and more with each passing day. Long before we began a believer, Jesus was working to reveal himself to us. Jesus placed experiences in our lives that exposed your deep need to know me.  At times when I shared my journey with someone I say I feel as thro I am a vacuum being suck into something, and that something is to go deeper and deeper of my understanding of the Risen Christ. Even after we begin to trusted Jesus as our savior he continues to pursue our heart, which was divided by him and worldly goals. When we finally begin to seek Jesus with our whole hearts he simply rejoice with that. We have tasted his goodness and we want more. God allows suffering in our lives so that we can learn to trust him even more than we have ever done. God’s goal for each of his children is to become so convinced of his goodness that nothing can shake our trust in him. Then, our soul will be deeply satisfied as with the richest of foods.

The Family of God

1 John 3.pngGod is the One who made all things, and all things are for his glory. He wanted to have many children share his glory.             ( Hebrews 2:10a) (NCV)

In the book of the Purpose Drive Life by Rick Warren he tells us that we were formed for God’s family. God wants a family, and he created you and me to be a part of it. This is God’s second purpose for your life, which he planned before you or me where born. The entire Bible is the story of God building a family who will love him, honor him, and reign with him forever. It says, “His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure.” Because God is love, he treasures relationships. His very nature is relational, and he identifies himself, in family terms: Father, Son, and Spirit. The Trinity is God’s relationship to himself. It’s the perfect patter for relational harmony, and we should study its implications.

Isn’t this wonderful to know that we are part of a wonderful family, that in spite of any flaws in us we are simply accept because of God’s great love for ALL of his children. The moment you were spiritually born into God’s family, you were given some astounding birthday gifts, the family name, the family likeness, family privileges, family intimate access, and the family inheritance. The Bible says, “Since you are his child, everything he has belongs to you” (WOW) The New Testament gives great emphasis to our rich “inheritance.” It tells us, “My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Jesus Christ.  As children of God we get to share in the family fortune. Here on earth we are given, the riches of his grace, kindness, patience, glory, wisdom, power and mercy. But in eternity we will inherit even more. Your inheritance is worth more than gold or silver, and that my friend is something to celebrate.

You Are Not A Mistake

Not a mistake.pngThe Purpose Driven Life book was written by Rick Warren a wonderful book for all of us to read, if you have ever wonder What on Earth Am I Here For?  I am sure their are many times and at times too many times we have wonder why I was ever born, what can I possible offer to the world, and even felt like you were a mistake. First off let me stay this to you, that you are not a mistake. Isaiah 44:2 tells us This is what the Lord says, he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you. From the book by Rick Warren he tells us this, long before you were conceived by your parents, you were conceived in the mind of God. He thought of you first. It is not fate, nor chance, nor luck, nor coincidence that you are breathing at this very moment. You are alive because God wanted to create you! The Bible tells us “The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me.” Let us think this thru for a second, wow, I am not mistake, no you are not, you were created by God for a purpose, for a special job that only you can do, and that is why you were created. It doesn’t matter whatever anyone ever tells you, that you are a mistake, (you are not) God doesn’t care ( God knows each of his children by name) You would never amount to anything ( Once again they are wrong, because he has a job with your name on it ) In his book The purpose Drive Life he quotes a poem by Russell Kelfer, that I will share with you.

You are who you are for a reason

You’re part of intricate plan

You’re a precious and perfect unique design,

Called God’s special woman or man,

You look like you look for a reason

Our God made no mistake.

He knit you together within the womb,

You’re just what he wanted to make

The parents you have were the ones he chose,

And no matter how you may feel,

They were custom-designed with God’s plan in mind,

And they bean the Master’s seal.

No that trauma you faced was not easy.

And God wept that it hurt you so,

But it allowed to shape your heart

So that into his likeness you’d grow.

You are who you are for a reason,

You’ve been formed by the Master’s rod.

You are who you are, beloved,

Because there is a God!
