Even To The End Of The Age

Matthew 28a.jpg

Be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”  Matthew 28:20

This Scripture gives us the assurance of the holy and continuous presence of the living Christ. Our Savior makes sure there is no doubt about it. Christ appears to the disciples beside the Sea of Galilee. These apostles were the founders of the universal church. Would this small group be able to carry out such a challenging task? To found and expand the church? Not if it depended on their own abilities, but it was possible with the omnipotence of the Master, who said, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.” (Matthew 28:18) Christ rules His church through His Word and leads it through His Spirit. Our task is merely to contribute towards it. When is Jesus with us, in the church, and in the hearts of His believing children? Our Scripture says “always”! His promise is that He will always be present in our lives with His Spirit and with His grace, an enduring and uninterrupted Presence.

We know that all days are different: There are sunny days, but also ominous and dark days; there are days when our hearts sing with joy, but also days when our hearts sob with misery and grief. There are days of firm and unshakable faith, but also days of doubt and stumbling, when we need to plead, “Help me overcome my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24) In His supreme wisdom God broke our lives up into pieces that we call days. the days all differ, but Christ promised, “I am with you always!”

Prayer: Thank you Jesus for the promise that you will always be with us now and forever.                        Amen

Two Kinds of Faith

John 14 b.png    Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us,” Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, “Show us the Father?’ Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves.   John 14:9-11

People travel different road to find faith in God. Some have a dramatic experience with Him and never doubt Him again. Others struggles with conflicting and perplexing ideas that they finally resolve. There are those that live a promiscuous, and ungodly life, only when they are on the verge of despair, do they seek a better road and find it in Christ.

Jesus here speaks of two ways in which we can come to faith in Him: to see Him as He is or to get to know Him in all his fullness. In the first way, the person takes Jesus at his word, form, and responds in love and surrenders. It can be called “intuitive faith,” where people meet Christ in a deeply religious experience that fills their whole life with meaning, purpose and direction.

In the second way, the person reasons things out. On this road to faith, the person says, “I see the world and it looks wonderful. It must have a Creator. I read about this remarkable man who healed the sick and died a brutal death on a cross. He must have loved us very much. I see the impact he has on many lives where he reveals miraculous grace. I will now walk this word myself.” Whichever route you choose to faith, just make sure that you know Jesus Christ as your Friend; that you worship Him and serve Him as your Lord and Savior.

Faith

2 Corinthians 5.jpgDuring this difficult time for many in the path of another hurricane these words from the Apostle Paul in the book of 2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith and not by sight.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.                                                 Hebrews 12:2

Jesus’ light shines on you continually, whether you are aware of it or not. During the night, your thoughts can be ones of afraid, nervousness, doubt, and fear. Although you may feel as if you are in complete darkness remember that you are never alone, Jesus is with you thru the night, and thru those times that fear reaches out to you and simply grab a whole of you, remember he does understand what you are feeling at that very moment. Jesus loves for you never and I mean never fails you. You need the light of his everlasting present more than you need the light of the new day. When the way before you is very dark you can still trust him to guide you. Walking by faith is akin to using radar to discern the way you should go. Instead of trying to see through the clouds of uncertainty up ahead, fix your eyes on the Master. He can show you a way forward when there appears to be none. Moreover, as you strive to stay in communication through your prayers, your soul begins to open up to Jesus. Even in the midst of your fear, struggles his loving presence can fill your soul with warm delight.

Dear Heavenly Father:

We know that you are the “Great I AM” the Alpha & Omega of all things, I ask for you to be everyone and anyone who maybe in the midst of this horrible storm approaching our land. I ask you the give them your peace, not as the world gives, but only you can give to each and everyone of your children.

In Christ Name I Pray

Amen

God’s Love For You

Psalm 62.jpgTruly my soul finds rest in God, my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation, he is my fortress I will never be shaken. How long will you assault me? Would all of you throw me down, this leaning wall, this tottering fence? Surely they intend to topple me from lofty place, they take delight in lies. With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse. Yes, my soul, find rest in God, my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God, his is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, you people, pour out your hearts to him for God is our refuge.

Psalm 62:1-8

Find comfort in knowing that God is perfectly good and strong. If God was good but lack strength, we would have no stronghold in times of trouble. If he was strong, but not totally good, his massive strength could be terrifying. God’s power is a threat to all those who oppose him. Remember Jesus is the Good Shepherd and the Good Shepherd knows his sheep and his sheep knows him. (John:10) We can always feel safe and secure in the arms of the Good Shepherd. The best way to avail yourself of His protection is to trust him totally. Jesus  unfailing love surrounds all those who trust in him. So your most important task as one of his sheep is to keep on trusting in him, Jesus is the perfect Shepherd of your soul. Find rest in him alone, for he is a surrounding stronghold of unfailing love.

Overcomer

“That day when evening came, Jesus said to his disciples.,” Let us go over the other side.” Leaving the crowd behind, they took along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious storm came up, and the waves broke  over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown. He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Peace! Be Still” Then the wind dies down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith? They were terrified and asked each other. “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”                                                        Mark 4:35-41 NIV                                       These words in the Gospel of Mark, talked about Jesus’ disciples who became so afraid because of the storm that they were facing, reminded me with the storms we all face during different times of our lives. No one here on earth is ever perfect neither is their lives, oh yes they may tell you everything is wonderful, but truth can be told not really. When we are children most of us can say that while growing up you had no worries at all, we ran and play, attend school, and perhaps church, until a storm becomes so real to us. Perhaps during all of your childhood you didn’t face some kind of tragedy, but eventually you will, just like all of us do. It is the way we all seem to handle life storms, do we run and hide, and cry out Lord save me!, sounds familiar to you, I have said this and perhaps you as well. Many such storms are the death of someone you loved very much and you feel as through you simply can not go on, overtime with God’s help you will be an overcomer. When financial difficulties come around and you simply don’t know how you are going to make this months bills, and somehow you do, that is when you are an overcomer. Sickness for you or someone you love, such as myself with a child with chronic illness and more than one. I try to remind myself in the middle of the storm that is going crazy all around me, just to ‘BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD”
