Two Kinds of Faith

John 14 b.png    Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us,” Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, “Show us the Father?’ Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves.   John 14:9-11

People travel different road to find faith in God. Some have a dramatic experience with Him and never doubt Him again. Others struggles with conflicting and perplexing ideas that they finally resolve. There are those that live a promiscuous, and ungodly life, only when they are on the verge of despair, do they seek a better road and find it in Christ.

Jesus here speaks of two ways in which we can come to faith in Him: to see Him as He is or to get to know Him in all his fullness. In the first way, the person takes Jesus at his word, form, and responds in love and surrenders. It can be called “intuitive faith,” where people meet Christ in a deeply religious experience that fills their whole life with meaning, purpose and direction.

In the second way, the person reasons things out. On this road to faith, the person says, “I see the world and it looks wonderful. It must have a Creator. I read about this remarkable man who healed the sick and died a brutal death on a cross. He must have loved us very much. I see the impact he has on many lives where he reveals miraculous grace. I will now walk this word myself.” Whichever route you choose to faith, just make sure that you know Jesus Christ as your Friend; that you worship Him and serve Him as your Lord and Savior.

God Is Always Near

Psalm 75We, give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks! For your wondrous works declare that Your Name is Near.                                                   Psalm 75:1

Don’t ever forget that God is near to you! At times He performs mighty miracles to remind us joust how close He is. But there are many times when we are not so consciously aware of His mighty and righteousness. This prayer address this problem directly. If we feel tempted to question whether God is even aware of our problems, we should begin to praise Him for his might. We should also remind ourselves that God is close to us and we should think of all the times that we have seen His power at work in the world. (the sun, clouds, stars, a newborn baby etc. ) God promised to bring justice to this world, but in His time. While we wait for God to act, we should keep praising him.

When we experience problems in life, it is often extremely difficult to wait on the Lord. The Israelites who were under the yoke of the Roman Empire felt exactly like that. They couldn’t wait for the Messiah to come. After centuries of waiting their hope was fulfilled in the baby who was born in Bethlehem. All that they had to do was wait for His perfect timing.

Whatever situation you might find yourself in today, think of one thing God has done for you recently, and sincerely thank Him for it. Praise Him because He is always near to you and rest assured that you will receive an answer to your prayers.

Joy-Filled Grace

Psalm 16.pngYou will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of Your presence and the pleasure of living with You forever.                                  Psalm 16:11

Our lives here on earth change constantly; new engaged in new experience and circumstances every day. We learn and grow  and move on. Sometimes there is a lot of sweat and hard labor, but little beauty and rest. Although we enjoy a measure of  success we also often taste failure, disappointment and pain. We mostly find human joy in relationships with friends. But even those are simply a mixture of highs and lows; they come and go, When we are happy and all smiles, when love is strong and warm, we wish that things could go on like that forever. But all earthly joy fades.

there is, however, one joy that is steady and eternal, and that is the presence of God. Many people shy away from God because they fear that He will make their joy disappear. They have the feeling that He will not approve of their lifestyles or that he will be shocked by their faults and the horrors of their sins. He does not, however, do that. But in striving after those temporary earthly pleasures they walk past the ingle greatest joy their is in life to know God and to live close to Him.

If you believe in Jesus Christ and follow Him faithfully, you will know that He does not in any way destroy earthly pleasures; He makes them richer and deeper. He adds a joy that does not fade with the passing years, a personal, tender and life-enriching friendship with Him! What is more, this joy is only the beginning of an even greater joy when this life comes to an end.

Always Near

Matthew 28These words from the book of Matthew are comforting words that Jesus tells his disciples before he ascending into heaven “And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age.” One of the most glorious truths of the gospel is that the living Christ, who became human for our sakes, is and always stays with each believer. How comforting this is to know, especially when our hearts are filled with sadness we cannot explain. Even if some of us struggle to experience this Jesus as a reality in our lives, He is with us whenever we might be-where we get to know Him better, when we praise and worship Him, even where we try to break through our doubts and uncertainties. He tells us wherever we may go, even in our moments of deepest doubts. We know, however, that when we grab hold of this gracious offer, we will have to break with all our sins. We cannot live in Christ’s presence on our own conditions. The only way we can experience and enjoy His presence is when we obey His will. Without the living Christ as your Savior, you don’t dare to venture into the unknown future. But when He is King of your life, He is always present. And through His Spirit you become increasingly aware of Jesus’ presence with every step you take into the future. A.W, Tozer a well known Christian Preacher, Author, and Spiritual Mentor says this: We need never shout across the spaces to an absent God. He is nearer than our soul, closer than our most secret thought. In other words their is nothing that anyone can truly hide from God because God is all knowing, and he knows our hearts and our secret thoughts.

Prayer: I praise and thank You, Lord Jesus, that You are always there for me. You will never leave me or forsake me, and I thank you for that. Help me to have a closer walk with you each and everyday of my life. In Jesus’ Name I pray.

Amen
