Prayer and Praise

Psalm 150.png

Praise, the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary, praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals. Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord.                                                                                                       Praise the Lord.                          Psalm 150

Some people only cry out to God when they want something. Their short greeting is quickly followed by a request. We know the minute we hear a certain voice during our prayer time we put up the boundaries and expect a yes or no from God right away. After we think we have the answer that we want or even think we never receive one, we then don’t have anytime for God. When we approach God, are we guilty of being like those others, hi God its me, “here is what I need from you. The privilege of even approaching God’s throne with our requests is granted to us at great cost to our Savior Jesus Christ. The least we can do is open our prayers with worship and praise to the “Great I Am” Adore Him. Thank Him, Praise Him. Let your mind focus on His greatness. Then bring your request humbly to Him. He will be honored and glorified by you.

Jesus is the firm foundation on which you can dance and sing praises and continually celebrate His presence, just as you long to. Most of the time, however, you feel earthbound and weighed down. Worshipping Jesus requires the engagement of your entire being, something you can delight in and yet somehow resist. If you want to learn how to celebrate Jesus more consistently, more abundantly, begin by lingering in His peaceful presence. As you relax in His everlasting arms, sense how safe and secure you are. Jesus is indeed the rock-solid foundation on which you can live exuberantly. Dancing, singing, and praying are ways you can express your delight in the “Great I Am”

Jesus very presence radiates joy in vast, unmeasured fullness. When you praise Him, your joy increases, as does your awareness of His Holy Presence. Your body may or may not be mightily engaged in this endeavor, but he can see your heart. That is where the ultimate celebration of Jesus takes place in all of his children, inside the heart. Even through he knows all of your concerns, and what weighs heavy upon your heart, Praise Him always even through your pain.

The Heart of Worship

1 Samuel 16.pngI will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.           Psalm 57:9-11

The Lord does look at the things people look at. People look at the things at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.                            1 Samuel 16:7

Worshipping God is something Christians do each and every Sunday or many of us do it every chance we do get to Praise the Lord. However, are we truly worshipping God is Spirit and in Truth. In the Gospel of John Jesus tells a Samaritan woman that God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.  ( John 4:24), but are we doing what we are called to do, or are we just going through the motions. It seems that most Sundays we as Christians are too busy with the fellowship of one another, and at times of the latest gossip that we are not centering ourselves with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  And by doing this we never realize that we are short changing our Creator as well as us when we do not worship God in Spirit and Truth.

God is the firm foundation on which you can dance and sing praises and continually celebrate His presence, just as you long to. Most of the time, however, you feel earthbound and weighed down. Worshipping God requires the engagement of your entire being, something you will delight in and yet somehow you may resist.

If you want to learn how to celebrate God more consistently, more abundantly, begin by lingering in God’s peaceful presence. Think of these words from the book of Psalm 46:10, “Be Still and Know That I am God.”  As you relax in His everlasting arms, sense how safe and secure you are. God is indeed the rock-solid foundation on which you can live exuberantly. Dancing, singing, and praying are ways you can express your delight in Him.

God’s very presence radiates Joy deep within our soul, unmeasured fullness. When you praise God, your joy increases, as does your awareness of His Holy Presence. Your body may or may not be mightily engaged in this endeavor, but God sees within our heart. This is where the ultimate celebration of God’s presence takes places.

Just empty your mind and think of nothing else but your loving Savior Jesus Christ.

Let Everything That Breathes Praise the Lord!

Psalm 150.pngPraise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power, praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise his with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.                                         Psalm 150

Sacrifice thank offering to God. Tell of his works with songs of joy!  Bearing your circumstances bravely even thanking God for them, which is the highest form or praise. God has been training you and I in the discipline of thankfulness for a long time. Yet we at times still find it hard to thank him for our own suffering or for others we know who are suffering. Sometimes we are able to do this, and when we do, we find that we become closer to God our Father. Thanking God for adversity requires a deep level of trust in his goodness, his mercy, and his love. People who are leaning on their own understanding cannot achieve this depth of trust. As you look to the scriptures to Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. We are learning to endure our circumstances bravely with thankfulness and we have experienced personal benefits from this. But there is more–much more! Your grateful acceptance of adversity has major repercussions far beyond ourselves :in heaven as well as on earth. Besides having Power to weaken spiritual stronghold of evil, your sacrifice of thanksgiving rings bells of joy throughout heavenly realms. On earth, our patient endure of suffering seeds out ripples of good tidings in every-widening circles to strengthen and encourage God’s people. So in every and all circumstances in your life or in mine we should always Praise the Lord!

Thankful for Who You Are

Psalm 28.pngPraise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and my shield ; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.                      Psalm 28:6-7

I come to you with a humble heart my Lord, to praise and worship for who you are the “Great I Am” and my provider. The blessings you continue to shower upon me everyday of my life, for the beauty that surrounds me. During the early hours or late at night I walk and look up to the beauty within the heavens, and what a wonderful site to see and just Praise Your Name. There are many things that I would like to see change in this world and in myself, however I must always go to you and simply talk over what lays heavy upon my heart. Instead of me focus on these, just help me to continue to focus upon you and your love for me and for all of humankind, because regardless you love continues. Help me to trust in you more, and not to wait until I am already discourage I need to bring all of my concerns to you. As I talk with you about all these matters, let me always remember to always come to you with a thankful heart. Praise the Lord, my soul all my inmost being, praise his holy name. I praise the Lord, my soul and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all my sins. These words come from the book of Psalm 103:1-3 however Lord they also ring true with my heart, I continue to Praise You deep within my soul knowing that I am  child of the “King of Kings” the Great I Am for I will continue to Praise you with my heart and lips for all to hear and for all of eternity.

Praise the Lord

Giving Thanks

1 Chronicles 16.pngLet the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!” Let the sea resound and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them! Let the trees of the forest sing, let them sing for joy before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love endures forever. Cry out, “Save us, God our Savior, gather is and deliver us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name, and glory in your praise.” Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Then all the people said, “Amen” and “Praise the Lord.”                                                       1 Chronicles 16:31-36

Every time you and I take the time to thank the Lord, we acknowledge that he is our Lord and Provider. And every time you receive with thanksgiving, we demonstrate our kinship with God.  Yet even thro we are his children and we know we are suppose to give thanks in all circumstances, sometimes our words ring hollow. We can say them without feeling the least bit thankful. It’s especially hard for either you or me to be grateful in the midst of a difficult time in our lives, when everything seems to be going wrong. God knows what goes on in our hearts far better than we do. He knows when we feel thankful, and when we don’t. However, God can also see in the depths of our heart, a desire to please him by offering thanks even when we truly don’t feel like it. When we struggle to be grateful, we need to stop and remember who he is God, our Creator, and the “Great I Am”, and he is the author of our lives and of our faith. We are utterly dependent on him for everything, including our next breath. Every good gift comes from above. When we thank God during a difficult day or a period in our lives, we are assuming the proper stance for a child of God. If we persevere in this thankfulness, resisting the temptation to grumble, we can find joy and peace in the midst of our struggles.

Unexpected Blessings

Psalm 8.png Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!                                                                          Psalm 8

As you read these words written by King David which can be found in the Old Testament, these words rings so true in todays world. Too many times we as humans seem to get pleasure of complain about something or someone, and we love to give ourselves a pity party every now and then. However instead of complaining to someone what if we begin to stop and realize the blessings that God has given to all of mankind. As each day gets shorter because of the winter drawing near I take walks after dark or early in the morning, and I just love to look up to the heavens to see the beautiful canvas that God has created with the stars, it is truly breath taken for all to see. I just stand still looking up and feel the wind upon my face and listen quietly for the voice of my heavenly father, and for me to say Thank You, this is just so beautiful. As I was planting the bulbs for springtime again I think what a blessing for me to see next spring the beautiful colors within each flower and knowing with the dead of the winter it will not be the end but all is asleep waiting for the beginning warmth to burse out in song to our Creator, God Almighty and all the colors will be amazing for us humans to enjoy. When the fall season begins at least for myself I enjoy the apple and pumpkin picking with my children as seeing all the beautiful colors from each and every tree. For many people it is a reminder of the winter coming closer but for me it reminds me of the harvest blessings that God has given to his children.  There are so many wonderful blessings around each of us each and everyday we truly don’t need to look too far to find them.

So on this day that God has given to you look around for his unexpected blessings he has given to you.

God Has Created This World For All!

Isaiah 45.pngFor this is what the Lord says-he who created the heavens, his is God, he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it, he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited- he says: “I am the Lord, and there is no other. I have not spoken in secret, from somewhere in a land of darkness; I have not said to Jacob’s descendants, Seek me in vain, I, the Lord, speak the truth; I declare what is right.                 Isaiah 45:18-19

As I read these words from the prophet Isaiah I think of the ten commandments that God gave to Moses years before hand. He wrote these commandments with his finger so that once all reads them we will engrave them in our hearts forever. Read Exodus 20:1-3 and God spoke all these words. “I am the Lord, your God, who brought you out of Egypt, and out of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me. In other words it is wrong for us to made anyone a God in our eyes for their is only one True God. We do not worship another person or thing as a God. Try to imagine if you would long ago before anything exist as we know, than God spoke a word and things came to past. He made the heavens and the earth for man and woman pleasure, and he also made us the keepers of this earth to care and love all living things, creatures and one another.  Sometimes as a drive by different areas I am amazed at how dirty things have become, I ask myself is this the way we would care for our homes and if the answer is of course not, so than why do we treat God’s world like things. Garbage toss on the ground like it was a garbage can, into our oceans and lakes killing living things and I just don’t understand why humans enjoy doing this and more important why don’t some even care at all. God is a God who loves all of his children unconditional, he created this world for us to enjoy can we all take care of it and all things as if they were our own personal treasures because all of this is our treasure and a gift from God. It is a reminder how much he loves us and how precious we are to him.
