Hope

Hebrews 6.png

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus, who went before us, have entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever.
Hebrews 6:19
Jesus is our Risen Savior! Through his resurrection you and I have been born again to an ever-living hope. It is vital for you to remain hopeful, no matter what is going on in your life. People put their hope in a variety of things, wealth, power, health, medical treatments, but these are all insufficient. When storms break upon your life, you can find only one adequate source of help which is Christ. The hope that he provides is an anchor for your soul, firm and secure even in the most tempestuous waters. A good way to remain anchored in him is to whisper as often as needed “Jesus”. You are my Hope. This affirmation strengthens you and keeps you connected to him. There are no limits to what Jesus great power and glory can accomplish. He can change the most hopeless situation into outright victory. Moreover, as you affirm your trust in him no matter how difficult your circumstances. Jesus is able to transform you gradually, lovingly. Those who hope in Christ will not be disappointed.

Wait For The Lord

Psalm 27.png

Teach me your way, Lord, lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors. Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witness rise up against me, spouting malicious accusations. I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Psalm 27:11-14

When we are waiting, trusting, and hoping for God, it is intricately connected, like golden strands interwoven to form a strong chain. Trusting is the central strand because it is the response from God’s children that he desires most. Waiting and hoping embellish the central strand and strengthen the chains that connects God to us. Waiting for God to work, with our eyes on him, is evidence that we really do trust him. If you or I mouth the words “I trust You” while anxiously trying to make sure things go our way, our words ring hollow. Hoping is future-directed, connecting you to your inheritance in heaven. However, the benefits of hope fall fully on me and you in the present. Because we belong to God, we don’t just pass time in waiting. We can wait expectantly, in hopeful trust. Keep our antennae out to pick up even the faintest glimmer of God’s Presence.

Put Your Hope In God

Isaiah 49.png We have this hope is an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. it enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever.                    Hebrews 6:19

Jesus Christ is our Risen Lord and Savior. Through his resurrection we have been born again to an ever-lasting hope. It is vital for you to remain hopeful, no matter what is going on in your life. People put their hope in a variety of things such as wealth, power, health, medical treatments, but these are all insufficient. When storms break upon your life, you can find only one adequate source of help-which is Christ! The hope that he can provide is an anchor for our soul, firm and secure even in the most tempestuous waters. A good way to remain anchored in him is to whisper as often as needed. “Jesus, You are my Hope” This affirmation strengthens you and keeps you connected to him.

We need to stay connected in scriptures and in our own prayer life to continue to journey daily with Christ. There is no limits of what he can do for us and his is constantly working on our behalf to draw us closer to him. He is able to transform us all gradually, lovingly. As we read in the book of Isaiah 49:23b Then you will know that I am the Lord, those who hope in me will not be disappointed.

Praised honored, blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ the Messiah! By His boundless mercy we have been born again to an ever-living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.                           1 Peter 1:3

God’s Love

Romans 5.pngTherefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance, character, and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.                                                        Romans 5:1-5

People all around the world can testify of their love for Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, they bear witness to their love and faith in Jesus Christ, who died on a cross over two thousand years ago. They are convinced that He is alive today. How is this possible? They never even saw that He is alive today. His earthly ministry lasted about three years and even the reports on that are rather fragmentary.

The secret of His unique attraction does not live in one or other theological formula or religious organization, regardless of how important these things may be in the right context. But He promised to grant His Spirit to everyone who accepts Him and confesses His rule. Through the ages He has kept His promises. He said that His Spirit would live in every person who loves Him and who serves Him. Countless followers of this century believe that this experience with the living Christ is valid and true for our time.

If you want to sit on the sideline, remember that Christ can convert your life. A new, unparalleled strength will take possession of your spirit. It will enable you to do those things that are pleasing to God. This change in your life and this new strength will assure you of Christ’s presence in your life. If you have the Spirit of Christ you will know the reality of His holy presence. Love for Him will radiate your heart and your life.

God’s Gift Called Grace

Ephesians 2a.pngBut because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions–it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works so that no one can boast.                                                 Ephesians 2:4-9

John Wesley the founder of the Methodist movement, grace was the powerful process by which believes came to experience God and know God’s salvation. Wesley believed grace was ever present and influential in believers coming to repentance. He believed grace could lead believers to love God with all their being and to love neighbors and the world as they loved themselves. Mr. Wesley understood God’s grace as a unified piece, but teaching he defined grace as having three aspects; prevenient, justifying, and sanctifying.

Prevenient Grace: Is the grace that comes to us even before we know God. God showers it upon all people whether they are aware of it or not. Through prevenient grace, God takes the initiative in beginning a relationship with us. Prevenient grace is God’s way of showing us that no matter who we are or where we are, God is already there ahead of us, waiting for us. God’s prevenient grace precedes us wherever we go.

Justifying Grace: Brings a big change to the relationship we have with God. Through justifying grace we begin to realize and trust (have faith) that we are restored to relationship with God. We come to acknowledge our sinfulness and trust that we are forgiven by God’s grace. Just as justifying text in a document aligns it a certain way, (right or left-justified) justifying grace aligns us with God through Jesus Christ. This is when “God reaches out to a person with accepting and pardoning love.” This change includes feelings of peace, hope, and joy. Such as experience “may be sudden and dramatic, or gradual and cumulative. It marks a new beginning, yet it is part of an ongoing process.”

Sanctifying Grace: Prevenient grace is God meeting you at every corner. Justifying grace is God reaching out to you with love. When you say yes to the invitation of justifying grace, you turn a corner in your faith journey. One of the most controversial teachings of the early Methodist movement was that it is possible for us to realize Christian perfection in this life, perfect love, loving perfectly. Wesley called this process “going on to Christian perfection,” or sanctifying grace. This part of grace challengers believers to go deeper in faith, to love the world more energetically, and to keep growing in the knowledge and love of God. For Wesley, God’s sanctifying grace led believers to have their hearts “habitually filled with the love of God and neighbor. For you, this might mean coming to understand your life as more and more focused on living by faith. Faith becomes the center out of which you live. Little by little, God’s sanctifying grace uncovers more and more of God’s image in you. As one who has been forgiven, you become more forgiving. As one who is loved, you become more loving. Wesley emphasized that we are continually filled with God’s love, we are led more fully to acts of mercy and works of justice.

Hope In The New Year

Lamentations 3.pngI remember my affliction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall. I well remember them, and my soul downcast within me and therefore I have hope; Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumer, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.                        Lamentations 3:23-24

God’s love never fails and neither are his blessings to all of his children, they are new for us each morning. We can begin each day knowing that his wonderful reservoir of blessings is full to the brim. This knowledge helps us to wait for him, entrusting our long unanswered prayers into God’s care and for his keeping. God assures us that not one of our prayers has slip pass him, unnoticed. God’s fountain of limitless love and unfailing compassion. As you and I wait in his presence, these divine nutrients are freely available. We may drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. Although many  of your prayers remain unanswered, you can trust in God’s great faithfulness. He keep all of his promises in perfect way and timing. Among other things, he has promised to give you peace that displaces the trouble and fear in your heart.  In the gospel of John 14: 27 Jesus tells his disciples and us “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you, I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. If you become weary of waiting for answers to your prayers, remember that he also waits, so that he may be gracious to you and have mercy on you. God waits till you are ready to receive the things he has lovingly prepared for you. His blessings are for all of his children, we only need to be still and know that he is God patiently.

Happy New Year

God’s Plans

Jeremiah 29.pngFor I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.                                     Jeremiah 29:11-13

You and I will try as hard as we can to plan for our future, all along thinking we know what is best for us, guess what we are wrong. Just as much for whatever anyone is going through right at this very second that we long things to be different. Not knowing all along that God has a plan for his children and his plan is perfect each and every time, and whatever anyone is going through in your own life right now God will change it all for his glorification  in his own time. God can fix everything into his majestic plan for good, including the things we wish were different. How you or I long to see that all embracing pattern and if God would show it to us we truly would not understand it. Your current situation feels like a gigantic mistake to you, something you should have been able to prevent. God wants you not to indulge in obsessing about what you could have done differently. The past is something you or I cannot change and our future belongs in the hands of God. Right now is the only place to begin anew. It’s the unique intersection of time and space location where I intend you or I to live. Some things and for that matter many things maybe beyond us, but we can live joyfully knowing that God is in control and His plans are always better than our own. Instead of worry about what tomorrow will bring let us just put all of our worries and concerns in God’s hands and believe me what I say this for when  we do we will never be disappointed.
