I AM THE TRUE VINE

I AM THE TRUE VINE.png“I AM the true vine, and my father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bears fruit he prunes, so that it will be even more fruitful.  You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself, it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”          (John 15:1-4 NIV)

God made us to be amazing people who learn and explore and create and give and delight and love. He made us full of potential and purpose. He made us to produce fruit. Good fruit that brings glory to God, our vinedresser. He made us to freely give grace, realizing need it ourselves. He made us to add goodness, see the beautiful, and rest in the assurance of His lavish love for us. Never ever for one second did God look at us and say, “My goal for this one is to simply be good enough.” Without Jesus we are selfish, self-focused, and all about our fruit bringing glory to ourselves. We work and strive and exhaust ourselves all for a pursuit that leaves us with hallowed out feeling that there’s more to life than chasing what we want, hoping to feel good enough. In essence, what Jesus is saying in this I AM passage is—–I am doing what you could not do. I am the true Vine. Israel, you were supposed to be the vine, but you couldn’t do it. So, I AM is coming and saying that He is about to step in and fulfill what you could not do. We are in that same boat, my friends. We cannot do what God has called us to do without Him. We are unable to be faithful to His commands. We have failed over and over just like the Israelites failed time and time again. The Jewish people hearing Jesus that day needed Him so step in as the true Vine. And we need Him to do that for us as well.

The last few post here in this site has been to Finding I AM, the book by Lysa TerKeurst and it was a awesome book to read, I would suggest for you to read it yourself. Finding Jesus we come to find out that He is the Great I AM, and apart from him going thru the day to day difficulty of life is never and I mean never easy for an human being. Take your time in discovering who Jesus who, and is, and is to coming, He is THE GREAT I AM, and believe me when you do accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior you will never regret doing it, and he will give you the peace that this world is unable to do.

GRACE AND PEACE TO YOU MY FRIENDS.

I AM THE WAY & THE TRUTH &THE LIFE

I AM THE WAY,& THE TRUTH & THE LIFE.pngThomas said to him, “Lord we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way? Jesus answered, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and seen him.                    (John 14:6 NIV)

As we look to the sixth I AM statements of Jesus as well as reading chapter 14 we see that Jesus is telling his disciples not to let their hearts be trouble or afraid. I would say anyone would be afraid in knowing what is about to take place with Jesus being beaten and crucified for are sins. In spite of the difficult road Jesus was about to take he was still comforting his disciples. Some people in this world think they have it all figure out, but unless they except Jesus as their Lord and Savior they have been deceived. Jesus stating very clearly that He is the Way.

Jesus, through I AM statements, makes a clear case for His identity. He is the Bread of life, He is the Light of the world, and He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Jesus can make these bold statements claims, I AM statement, because they are true. The predications about the Messiah in the Old Testament are fulfilled and proven true through Jesus.

Of all the I AM statements we’ve looked at, the Resurrection and the Life points more directly to our future hope for eternal life. Because Jesus tells us He is the only way, it is important for us to see how His life fulfillment of prophecy.

Grace and Peace to You My Friends

I AM

MosesMoses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law and he lead the flock to the far side of the wildness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in the flames of fire from within. Moses saw that through the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought I will go over and see this strange sight–why the bush does not burn up. When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush. Moses! Moses! and Moses said “Here I am” Do not come any closer God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground. Then he said ” I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God. (Exodus 3:1-6) The Lord said to Moses I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. God wanted Moses to go and free his people from the Egyptian, and like so many of us today when God is calling us to do a job, what do we say not me Lord, send someone else. But in the time of Moses God had intending choosing him for this job.

Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they ask me, “What is his name? Then what shall I tell them? God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites, I am has sent me to you. God also said to Moses, Say to the Israelites, The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.  This is my name forever, the name you shall call me, from generation  to generation.                                   (Exodus 3:13-15)

Who is the Great I Am, over the next few writing I will share with you from Lysa Terkeurst book Finding I Am. This is a wonderful study for anyone who is seeking to find out who is the Great I AM.

I am!

The storms in our lives can be very, and I mean very painful, and today early this morning thru my own tears of disappointment in human beings, these words I have sung many times before flood my mind. As I ask the why questions we all seem to ask sometime during our own life, why my Lord. Have I disappoint people in what I have done or perhaps of what I have said. The words in scriptures that have come to me more than once are as follows.

Then Peter came to Jesus and ask Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times? Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times but seventy-seven times. (Matthew 18:21-22) If we feel the need to ask forgiveness from God why then is it so difficult for humans to forgive one another. Why do we feel that it is okay to judge someone knowing we are totally far from perfect and we all have fallen short in so many ways. I praise God that he is a forgiving God especially with all of my faults and the many sins I have committed in the past or will in the future. I only wish people in general in all walk of life, would find it in their own heart to forgive each other.
