In Your Hands Lord

Jeremiah 18.jpgThis is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord. Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message. So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands, so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as the potter does? declares the Lord. Like clay in the hands of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.                                        Jeremiah 18:1-6 NIV

Jeremiah, led an emotionally, tortured life, yet remained steadfastly faithful to God, and the call to deliver his stern message. He spoke to Judah in the last decades before Babylon destroyed the nation.

The life of Jeremiah was never an easy one to say the least, God had called Jeremiah to be a prophet, and I am sure at times he was not thrill with that job at all. However God knew Jeremiah’s heart and he knew he had called the right person for the job he had in mind. If we all can take a moment to realize that God also has a job in mind for each one of us, I am not sure what God is calling you to do in your life, and it may not be an easy one at that.  As God is shaping each one of us into what he is calling us to do, it can be at times very painful, however in the end, it will be a beautiful thing. We all have a passion in our lives, something that God has given to us, and when we do what we love to do it brings us great joy. I have read more than once the book called “You were Born for This” by Rick Warren, and as you read thru this book you will begin to think what God is calling you to do with your own life. Rick Warren talks about the Miracle Life Keys—The master key is an urgent prayer to be sent by God on a miracle mission. Your request alerts Heaven that you are more than just available, you’re committed to respond whenever God nudges you. It’s called the Master Key because your urgent plea opens the door to a life of miracles. The People Key–readies you for the inevitable moments when Heaven’s agenda collides with your own. When you apply this key, you put yourself and Heaven  an notice that you have decided to make God’s heart for people your won. Because you now share His passion, you’ll be prepared to deliver miracles to whomever He ask whenever He asks. The Spirit Key—-prepares you to cooperate with God’s spirit, especially in regard to His supernatural power. The action of this key releases you from any false assumptions about your ability to do a miracle and aligns you with the supernatural power that’s always required to accomplish a miracle outcome. As you learn more about the Spirit works through you, you will come to rely on Him with increasing confidence. The Risk Key—shows you how to intentionally live in such a way that you take risks of faith, relying on God to accomplish what He wants done. You act in dependence on God despite feelings of discomfort or fear, trusting that He will bridge the gap between what you can do and what only He can do through you. When He bridges that gap with a miracle, His power and glory are on display. You see my friends God is the potter and we are His clay, and he will shape our lives into what He has called us to do here on earth, and all we need to do is simply trust in Him.

A Morning Devotion

devotion 2.pngBeautiful words to read early this morning from Isaiah 55:8, have you ever tried to do things your way and especially without directions and fail. I have you feel as thro you do not need help from anyone, or anybody, don’t worry I can do it all by myself, but can we? The answer to the question is no, we can not, we do need a set of instructions and for us as Christians that is God’s word the Bible, it is our instructions to anything in our own lives, and yet even thro we do have a Bible to read we seem to keep it close and say I do not need any help, until we get in over our heads.  When life throws us a curve ball such has illness, death, loss of a job, loss of a love one, addition and so much more then we cry out Oh My God where are you, I need help and I need it fast. But friend why wait until then, by us having a walk with God everyday and staying in his word everyday, we come to realize that Our thoughts are not God’s thoughts, and His ways are not the same as ours. You see by staying in prayer on a daily basis we come to know and understand what we are called to do in our own lives, what we were born to do. God has a job for you and me to do and no other person but you, and you need to seek it out. God is the Potter and we are the clay, he will melt and mold us into the person that he knows we are design to be.

Lord, as I sit and listen to your voice help me to understand that your way is always best for me, you are the potter of my life. Melt me and mold me into the woman (or man)  you want me to be and to serve you everyday of my life.

Amen

Grace and Peace to you my friends.
