Strength for Every Day

Ephesians 6.pngFinally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.               Ephesians 6:10

When we are faced with problems that seem irresolvable, we often cry out in despair, “What can I do?” I cannot go on like this! This might be the result of a personal setback, a business failure or a disappointed national or international situation. Whatever it is, the consequent feelings of hopelessness leave you alone and vulnerable.

There is only one thing that you can be absolutely certain about and that is the fact that God will never leave you to wrestle with life and all its problems on your own. He who has promised never to leave you and never to forsake you (Hebrews 13:5) He is simply waiting for you to call out to Him. You can be sure of His all powerful help. Instead of continuously laboring under the heavy burden of life, put your trust in your heavenly Father. Let Him be completely in control of your life and affairs, and let Him unconditionally lead you on His path. As you walk in obedience with the Lord, you will experience the trust, assurance and peace that are born from the presence of His Holy Spirit in your life.

God can give only according to His might; therefore He always gives more than what we ask for.                          Martin Luther

Lasting Joy

John 16b

Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I  will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.        John 16:20-22

There will be fullness of knowledge, the day Jesus is talking about. Jesus says to His disciples, “At times you won’t need to ask Me for anything” (John 16:23) There are always unanswered questions and unsolved problems in life. We must walk this path of life by faith, and not be seeing. We must accept the things we cannot understand. We are only able to grasp a fragment of the truth about God, but when Christ comes again, there will be complete knowledge. If we walk with Christ, the questions will disappear and the time of answers will dawn.

There will also be a new relationship with God. When God really knows us, we can ask him anything, we know that the door to God is open and that he has a heart of love. Jesus says that in this relationship we will be able t ask God for anything. If a child loves his father, he knows very well that his father sometimes says no, because a father’s knowledge and a father’s love knows best. We can become so intimate with God that we may go to him with everything, as long as we end with, “Let your will be done.” this new relationship with God is made possible through Jesus. It is because of who Jesus is and what Jesus did that our joy is complete and indestructible. Everything we have comes to us through Jesus. It is his name that we ask and receive, in his name that we approach God and are welcome.

The Heart of Worship

Romans 6.pngIn the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer any part of yourselves to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and offer every part of yourselves to him as an instrument of righteousness. For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.      Romans 6:11-14

The heart of worship is surrender. Surrender is an unpopular word, disliked almost as much as the word submission. It implies losing, and no one wants to be a loser. Surrender evokes the unpleasant imagines of admitting defeat in battle, forfeiting a game, or yielding to a stronger opponent. The word is almost always used in a negative context. In today’s world we are taught early in our lives to never give up, or never give in. so we don’t hear much about surrendering. If winning is every thing (like in sports), surrendering is just unthinkable. We would rather talk about winning, succeeding, overcoming, and conquering than yielding, submitting, obeying and surrendering. But to surrendering to God is the heart of worship. It is the natural response to God’s amazing love and mercy. WE give ourselves to him, not out of fear or duty, but in love, “because he first loved us”. True worship bringing God pleasure–happens when you give yourselves completely to God.  Offering yourselves to God is what worship is all about. This act of personal surrender is called many things, consecration, making Jesus your Lord, taking up your cross, dying to self, God wants all of you, not just part of you, he wants all of you. Everybody eventually surrenders to something or someone. If not to God, you will surrender to the opinions or expectations of others, to money, to resentment, to dear, or to your own pride, lusts or ego. You were designed to worship God, and if you fail to worship him, you will create other things (idols) to give your life to. You are free to choose what you surrender to, but you are not free from the consequences of that choice. If God is going to do his deepest work in you, it will begin with this. So give it all to God, your past regrets, your present problems, your future ambitions, your fears, dreams, weaknesses, habits, hurts, and hang-ups. Put Jesus Christ in the driver’s seat of your life and take your hands off the steering wheel. Don’t be afraid, nothing under his control can ever be out of control. Mastered by Christ, you can handle anything. I can do all things thru Christ who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

God Does Listens

Psalm 66a.pngCome and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me. I cried out to him with my mouth, his praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened, but God surely listened and he has heard my prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love for me!

Psalm 66:16-20

So many times someone ask why do you bother with praying to a God who does not seem to care. Oh my friend you are so far from the truth, God does hear all the prayers, the big ones, the quiet ones upon our hearts, the ones we seems to do through all of our tears, and even the little ones from a child, God does hear them all. Just think for a moment that you and I are able to go to God of the universe with all of our problems with all of our cares, and dreams, and even with our frustration and he does listen. But please don’t take this awesome prayer privilege for granted! Don’t let foolish arrogance step in either, making you act as if you are doing God a favor by spending time with him, remember he knows your heart even better you do and he will know if you do come to him with a willing a heart, to prayer, the to listened for the right answer because he does know what is best for all of his children and then we simply Praise Him for who he is, the God of the Universes the “Great I Am” The best antidote to such foolishness is recognizing it and repenting of it. The we need to remember who he truly is, The King of King and Lord of Lord, Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He is also our shepherd, tenderly leading you and me step by step through out our lives. Always remember how precious that you are to him, and even when things get difficult for you or me we need to remember to always Praise Him, why you may ask because he is worthy of our praises and because you and I are a child of the Most High King.

Searching

Psalm 23-2.pngHe leads me besides quiet waters, He restores my soul, He guides ,me along the right path, for his name sake.                         (Psalm 23:2-3 NIV )                                                           I have been walking a hard road and searching, I fine myself walking along this stream thinking of the pain I have been enduring. My soul cries out to you Lord, for I need some rest.  Lord you tell me to come to you, with all the difficulties that are weighing me down. Even through there seems to be no relief in sight, my troubles are actually light and momentary–from an eternal perspective. My problems seem so heavy because I have given them too much power. Each time I focus on them and forget all about you Lord, forgive me. I just need to lay them all down at the cross, and remember to cast all my burdens on you,

Our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all                                                               (2 Corinthians 4:17)

Trust in him at all times. O people, pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.

(Psalm 62:8)
