Prepared for Your Eternal Destination

John 6.png

When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?” Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the sings I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. Don’t be concerned about perishable things like food. Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that the Son of Man can give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”                               John 6:25-27

There are depths to God’s nature that ho human could ever estimate, but few people have taken the time and gone to the trouble of getting to know God to the best of their ability. They believe Him and yet refuse to totally and unconditionally entrust their lives to Him. They say they trust God and yet worry themselves sick about many things. (This sounds like many of us) They are surrounded by the glory of the living God, and yet they become involved in petty religious issues that dishonor His name.

One of the most glorious facts about Christ’s teachings is their simplicity. Jesus invites the human being to a new and blessed relationship with the living God and Father. One of the basic requirements for their relationship is sincere spiritual hunger and willingness to accept Jesus as Redeemer and Savior.

This acceptance is not the result of an emotional experience or following a specific religious formula, but total and unconditional surrender to the Father. You should get into the habit of speaking to God as you go about your daily tasks, like you would speak to a friend, which is exactly what God is. As you start having more intimate fellowship with Him, He will become more of a reality to you, until every aspect of your life is made holy by God’s presence and you are ready for your eternal destination.

Being Born Again

John 3.png   Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.” Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” How can someone be born when they are old? Nicodemus asked. Surely they cannot enter a second times into their mother’s womb to be born!  Jesus answered, Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit, gives birth to the spirit.                                             John 3:1-6

Nicodemus conversation with Jesus started with his statement that one couldn’t help but be impressed by the signs and wonders that Jesus performed. Jesus’ answered was that the signs and wonders were not so important, the most important thing was the change in a person’s inner being, and that could only be described as a new birth. When Jesus said that one must be born again, Nicodemus misunderstood Him. Jesus meant that to be born again you had to undergo such a radical change that it looked like a new birth. The process is not only a human achievement but is brought about by the grace and omnipotence of God.

This idea of rebirth runs through the entire New Testament 1 Peter 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Romans 6:11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus, and there are other Scriptures as well. This is exactly what happened when a heathen became converted to Judaism: He become a new person in all respects and therefore Jesus could assume that Nicodemus understood the concept.

So what does rebirth mean to us? It embraces a few important things: It concerns the kingdom of God that cannot be entered unless rebirth has taken place; the fact we cannot be God’s children without being born again; and the idea of being children of God as well as having eternal life.

Prayer: Lord Jesus

I have accept you as my Lord and Savior, come into my heart to live forever and change me from the inside, out to become born of Water and Spirit. Your grace, Lord Jesus, is immeasurable; because of this sinners can become your children, and I thank you and Praise You Name, now and forever.                             Amen

Sowing Seeds

John 4a.pngMeanwhile Jesus disciples urged him, “Rabbi eat something.” But he said to them.” I have food to eat that you know mothing about.” Then his disciples said to each other, “Could someone have brought him food?” My food, said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his word. Don’t you have a saying. ‘It’s still four months until harvest? I tell you, open your e4yes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. Even now the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true. I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.                                Matthew 4:31-38

I began to teach Sunday School in my early twenties because I remember many who has touch my own life in my journey of faith. As I became an adult I felt it was really important to plant the seeds of God’s love in children. So between teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for almost twenty years I had the opportunity with God’s help to share his love. No I most likely never see those seeds that I have planted come into harvest time, but to me it doesn’t matter because God does. Especially during that one week in the summer is always a great opportunity to plant seeds, my church most times would have more than one hundred children each day during VBS. As a leader or a teacher or a helper we truly don’t know what a child maybe faces in their own lives, and all they longer to know is this “Does Anyone Love Me”  If we as adults in the world today would stop and take a good look of how to sow the seeds of Christ into our children and other children, perhaps maybe then our children in this world would come to have a walk with Jesus Christ each and everyday, they will know that they will always have a best friend that would never let them down, rejected them in anyway. And when we begin to do this perhaps just maybe our children would not look to have sex at an early age, begin to smoke cigarettes, begin to drink, start to use drugs because when they find the missing link, the missing puzzle part in their puzzle of life which is Jesus Christ, “The Great I Am” the will come to love themselves as Christ loves them and then they too can love one another and begin to sow the seeds of Christ into the hearts of the next generation.
