Jesus’ Calling You!

2 Corinthians 5.png

Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we walk by faith, and not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

2 Corinthians 5:6-10

You need to follow Jesus one step at a time. That is all he requires of you. In fact, that is the only way to move through the space-time world. You see huge mountains looming, and you start wondering how you’re going to scale those heights. Meanwhile, because you’re not looking where you’re going, you stumble on the easy path where he is leading you now. As Jesus’ helps you get back on your feet, you tell him how worried you are about the cliffs up ahead. But you don’t know what will happen today, much less tomorrow. Your path may take an abrupt turn, leading you away from those mountains. There my be an easier way up the mountains than is visible from this distance. If you allow Jesus to lead the way, he will equip you thoroughly for the strenuous cliffs. He will give his angles charge over you, to preserve you in all your ways. Keep your mind on the present journey, enjoying His presence. Walk by faith, not by sight, trusting Jesus to open up the way before you.

Jesus is renewing your mind. When your thoughts flow freely, they tend to move towards your problems. Your focus gets snagged on a given problem, circling around and around, it attempts to gain your entire life. Your energy is drained away from other matters through this negative focus. Worst of all, you lose sight of Christ. A renewed mind in his presence is what you need. Train your mind to seek him in every moment, every situation. Sometimes you can find him in your surroundings: a lifting birdsong, a loved one’s smile, golden sunlight. At other times, you must draw inward to find him. Jesus is always present in your spirit. Seek his face, speak to him, and he will light up your mind and your heart.

God Remembers Your Sins No More!

Isaiah 43.pngWash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong. Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Through your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; through they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.                       Isaiah 1:16-18

I enjoy reading many books by Max Lucado a Christian author, and I have been reading his one book called “God Came Near” during this advent season. In the one chapter that I have read which is called “He Forgot” it made be think of the words from the book of Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my won sake, and remember your sins no more. Wow, Now that is something to talk about, God doesn’t just forgive us for our sins, he forgets them, he erases the board, he destroys the evidence. He doesn’t remember our mistakes. ( I can say thank goodness). For all the things he does do, this is one thing he refuses to do. He refuses to keep a list of our wrongs. When we ask for forgiveness, he doesn’t pull out a clipboard and say,” But I’ve already forgiven you for that at least a hundred times.” He doesn’t remember. ” As far as the east is from the west, so far he has removed our transgressions from us. Psalms 103:12 Do you think God is the voice that reminds you of the putridness of your past? Do you think God was teasing when he said “I remember your sins no more? Do you actually believe he would make a statement like ” I will not hold their in iniquities against them” and then rub our noses in them whenever we ask for help? Of course you don’t. You and I just need an occasional reminder of God’s nature, his forgetful nature. Think about this for a moment, if he didn’t forget our sins, how could we pray to him, or better yet worship him and sing praises to him, God is the “Great I Am”.  Let us remember the scriptures I shared with you as well as another from Hebrews 8:12 For I will forgive their wickedness, and will remember their sins no more.”

Walking By Faith

2 Corinthians 5.pngTherefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we walk by faith and not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, so that we each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

2 Corinthians 5:6-10

The believer not only is well assured by faith that there is another and a happy life after this is ended, but we have good hope, through grace, of heaven as a dwelling-place, a resting-place, a hiding-place. In our Father’s house there are many mansions, whose Builder and Maker is God. The happiness of the future state is what God has prepared for those that love him: everlasting habitations, not like the earthly tabernacles, the poor cottages of clay, in which our souls now dwell; that are moldering and decaying, whose foundations are in the dust. The body of flesh is a heavy burden, the calamities of life are a heavy load. But believers groan, being burdened with a body of sin, and because of the many corruptions remaining and raging within them. Death will strip us of the clothing of flesh, and all the comforts of life, as well as end all our troubles here below. But believing souls shall be clothed with garments of praise, with robes of righteousness and glory. The present graces and comforts of the Spirit are earnests of everlasting grace and comfort. And though God is with us here, by his Spirit, and in his ordinances, yet we are not with him as we hope to be. Faith is for this world, and sight is for the other world. It is our duty, and it will be our interest, to walk by faith, till we live by sight. This shows clearly the happiness to be enjoyed by the souls of believers when absent from the body, and where Jesus makes known his glorious presence. We are related to the body and to the Lord; each claims a part in us. But how much more powerfully the Lord pleads for having the soul of the believer closely united with himself! Thou art one of the souls I have loved and chosen; one of those given to me. What is death, as an object of fear, compared with being absent from the Lord. We need to continue to focus our eyes on Jesus on a daily basis and yes I know that is not an easy thing to do. This is why it is important for us Christians to continue in being in fellowship with each other, reading scriptures and having a prayer life each and everyday. And by doing so our faith becomes stronger one day at a time.

Keeping Faith

Romans 4.pngTherefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s off-spring-not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. As it is written: I have made you a father of many nations. He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed-the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not. Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him. So shall your offspring be. Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead-since he was about a hundred years old-and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief, regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.        Romans 4:10-21

It is always quiet easy to have faith when things are going our way and everything seems to being smelling like a rose. But, the question to you is this! how is your faith when life seems to be falling down all around you. No matter how hard you maybe trying, at times things seems to go from bad to worst and that is when your faith or even mine is being tested. As we read above in the book of Romans, we read about Abraham a man of great faith, he truly believed that God would do for him what he had promise, which is for him and his wife Sarah to become parents even being quiet old, and that he would become the father of many nations, and Abraham believe and it came to past. What is faith, faith is believing in God, trusting him for he knows what is best for all of his children. To have great faith like Abraham or any of the prophets we need to practice at it each and everyday. The different ways to practice that faith is to continue to study the Word of God, having a prayer life with our Creator, and being a part of a community of other believers.  When things become hard for you and even for me our faith can with stand the test of faith, and knowing that God will give us the strength to continue to move forward in our faith journey.

Faith

2 Corinthians 5.jpgDuring this difficult time for many in the path of another hurricane these words from the Apostle Paul in the book of 2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith and not by sight.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.                                                 Hebrews 12:2

Jesus’ light shines on you continually, whether you are aware of it or not. During the night, your thoughts can be ones of afraid, nervousness, doubt, and fear. Although you may feel as if you are in complete darkness remember that you are never alone, Jesus is with you thru the night, and thru those times that fear reaches out to you and simply grab a whole of you, remember he does understand what you are feeling at that very moment. Jesus loves for you never and I mean never fails you. You need the light of his everlasting present more than you need the light of the new day. When the way before you is very dark you can still trust him to guide you. Walking by faith is akin to using radar to discern the way you should go. Instead of trying to see through the clouds of uncertainty up ahead, fix your eyes on the Master. He can show you a way forward when there appears to be none. Moreover, as you strive to stay in communication through your prayers, your soul begins to open up to Jesus. Even in the midst of your fear, struggles his loving presence can fill your soul with warm delight.

Dear Heavenly Father:

We know that you are the “Great I AM” the Alpha & Omega of all things, I ask for you to be everyone and anyone who maybe in the midst of this horrible storm approaching our land. I ask you the give them your peace, not as the world gives, but only you can give to each and everyone of your children.

In Christ Name I Pray

Amen
