A Cup Each Morning

Psalm 5.png

In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice, in the morning I lay my request before you and wait expectantly.                              Psalm 5:3-4

The alarm rings. As our minds wake from the fuzziness of slumber, thoughts of the day come rushing in, as we go over what needs to be done. The day ahead may hold some unpleasant tasks; perhaps our to do list is so long it makes us tired before we can even begin. In any case, some mornings, we’d rather stay in bed so we don’t have to face the day at all.

Can you even imagine instead of the same way,  begin your day before your alarm goes off, grab that cup of coffee, tea, or cold drink, get to your comfy place with your Bible and begin your day with a cup of Christ. The words of Beth Moore (founder of Living Proof Ministries) Imagine how different our days would be if we had our cups filled by Christ first thing in the morning. When Christ fills our cups, He gives us His love, joy, peace and patience. We’re able to be kind, good, faithful, gentle. (The fruits of the Spirit which can be found in the book of Galatians 5:22-23) A little self-control might come in handy at an opportune moment as well.

Invite Jesus into your thoughts by whispering his name, and then suddenly your day brightens and feels more user-friendly. When you speak Jesus’ name in loving trust, you sense His presence and feel yourself drawing closer to him. There is great power in His name: Simply whispering Jesus, can turn a hard day into a good one. By calling on his name frequently, you acknowledge your continual need of him. His very being, Jesus is joyfully responding to your invitation by coming nearer to you.

Jesus is pleased by your desire to rely on him in ordinary moments as well as in the big events in your life. When you whisper Jesus, Jesus, he respond not only to your neediness but also to your love for him. As you look to him, his face shines upon you in radiant approval brightening your day and helping you feel secure. What a wonderful way to start off each and everyday with a cup full from Christ.

Tea Time With God!

Psalm 46a

God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, through the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, through its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. The word trust is in the scriptures more than one hundred and fifty times, and yet we always have a very difficult time in trusting God with our own lives. We maybe able to tell others to trust in him but we do not take our own advice with the same matter. God is an Awesome God! Who but him could be everywhere at every time, ceaselessly working in our behalf? It does amazes me that one so great as the Almighty would care about all the many little details in our lives but he does. When you ponder these glorious truths, we can feel safe, knowing you are never alone. When you don’t keep these truths before you, you fall back into your default mode; straining and striving as if outcomes were totally up to you and you alone. When you really need to keep God always before you- not just truths about him. It’s so easy for God’s children to confuse knowledge about him with knowing him. The apostle Paul understood this distinction: He wrote needing Power, through God’s Spirit, to grasp how wide, and long and high and deep is His love for all mankind. Knowing God is so much more than an activity of the mind. It is largely a matter of trusting him. Sometimes you are keenly aware of God’s presence, at other times, this awareness is little or even absent. When you feel alone, you need to rely on your trust in trust The “Great I Am” Continue to live and communicate as if he is with you just like a friend or a love one is with you because truly he is. Jesus as promise us in the book of Hebrews 13:5 Never will I leave you or never will I forsake you, and that is a promise he has always kept with all of mankind. So take the time to get to know him and truly trust the Savior of the world Jesus Christ!

Alone With God

Psalm 118.jpgCome along with me, grab your cup of coffee or tea, to that special quiet place, and the only one with you is God. The day is very early and the sun is just starting to peak over the mountains where I am sitting, and it is very quiet. I begin my mornings with scriptures and today it is from the book of Psalm 118:24 This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Rejoicing in this new day of my life, regardless of what my happen, and be willing to follow Jesus wherever he is leading me.  Anticipate blessings as I journey with together with him. Since God has created this day of our life and presented to us free of charge. He wants us to received it gratefully. Your natural tendency when you awaken is to asses the day before you, trying to discern how good (or bad) it will be. You or I do this almost unconsciously, often basing our conclusions on something as trivial as the weather. God urges us to break free from this habit so we can be more receptive to him and his blessings.  A thankful attitude is immensely helpful. If we awaken on a dark and gloomy day, still do with a thankful heart. Having done so, you will be much likely to grumble about the weather. Also, remember that God has arranged the conditions of your day. So you can assume there is much good to be found in it. Rejoicing will help us find many blessings in our day. If your circumstances are looking rather bleak than be joyful in Jesus our faithful companion. He wants us to enjoy him and look for precious gifts he has placed long the path we are to follow. In faith, be on the lookout for good things both great and small. Also remember he is our teacher and our trusted friend.
