Why A Heart Needs To Rest (Guess Blogger)

I would like to introduce to you Rebecca Jones:

I’m a writer, Christian, I love music and art. I am hoping to encourage others, to inspire them to follow their dreams and trust Jesus. I am always working on improving my blog, keeping with the theme of teaching women to rest and be the beloved, and to depend on the mercy and grace of our Lord. It’s all for His glory. Why does a heart need to rest? Proverbs 23:4 says to guard it, for out of it flows everything you do. Sometimes, it translates it that issues flow. And they do. I was guilty of not guarding mine. I let things said and done hurt me to the extreme. My heart was overwhelmed and I had to turn to Jesus. I truthfully, don’t think I would have survived had I not.
I am very good with words, for God’s glory. I try to choose them wisely. I highly recommend reading Proverbs about words. Soft words, kind words, and healing words, all do a heart good. The Bible is full of love and poetry. John is the best book to read about God’s love. Sow these words into your heart so you can meditate on them and walk in them, and speak them at a moment’s notice.

You, as a believer, have an enemy. The devil would like nothing better than to steal from your heart and he will if you let him. Mark 4 and Matthew 17 describe the sower and how he comes immediately for the Word’s sake. And he will wriggle it out of your heart, break it out, rip it out. Anyway, he can get it! Using anybody he can. Family, fellow Christians, it doesn’t have to be someone you may not know or pay much attention. You have to get close to inflict these wounds.
Look at how the disciples argued, Jesus rebuked Peter, there was contention and the worst of all Judas. Jesus loved them all and look how they treated Him. They even ran when He was arrested. Jesus is the most forgiving person ever and look how people treat Him. even now, they call Him when they need Him but how often can we say we talk to Him about little things, big decisions or anything at all. Even a moment of thanks, ” Where are the other nine?, He asked of those He healed.

I talk to Him all the time now. I used to just pray, but now I talk to Him as a friend, a best friend. I tell Him things I can’t tell anyone else. Nothing extreme, just sorting things out, so I won’t make the same mistakes. Your heart needs to rest and that’s more than less stress, watching your diet or even medication. It’s His rest, work for it, concentrate and focus on the healer of hearts, not the breaker. And I’m not just talking romance here. Love is so much more than that.
His love is deeper than a physical relationship, yet, as intimate as a marriage. I love Jesus and He loves me even more! So let your heart rest and safely trust in Him, you can trust your heart if He’s in it! Watch your words. His heart beats for you. Rest! So your heart will receive His peace and that passes understanding. Rebecca Jones

A heart at peace gives life to the body. Proverbs 14:30
He left us His peace and it is important to speak that into our hearts and spirits. Even for health to our bodies. John 14:27, We also need the peace that passes understand to guard our hearts. Philippians 4:7

God Is Always Near

Psalm 75We, give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks! For your wondrous works declare that Your Name is Near.                                                   Psalm 75:1

Don’t ever forget that God is near to you! At times He performs mighty miracles to remind us joust how close He is. But there are many times when we are not so consciously aware of His mighty and righteousness. This prayer address this problem directly. If we feel tempted to question whether God is even aware of our problems, we should begin to praise Him for his might. We should also remind ourselves that God is close to us and we should think of all the times that we have seen His power at work in the world. (the sun, clouds, stars, a newborn baby etc. ) God promised to bring justice to this world, but in His time. While we wait for God to act, we should keep praising him.

When we experience problems in life, it is often extremely difficult to wait on the Lord. The Israelites who were under the yoke of the Roman Empire felt exactly like that. They couldn’t wait for the Messiah to come. After centuries of waiting their hope was fulfilled in the baby who was born in Bethlehem. All that they had to do was wait for His perfect timing.

Whatever situation you might find yourself in today, think of one thing God has done for you recently, and sincerely thank Him for it. Praise Him because He is always near to you and rest assured that you will receive an answer to your prayers.

Reflecting God’s Love

Proverbs 27.pngTherefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothes yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through him.                                                 Colossians 3:12-17

The Apostle Paul was in a Roman prison when he wrote to the church in Colossae. False teachers were coaching the Colossians to worship angels, and follow special rules and ceremonies. Paul corrected this thinking through his letter, stressing that faith in Christ is sufficient for salvation and that nothing needs to be added to Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.

As we read these word today from Colossians I begin to think the reflection that you would see over a lake. One of green trees, and a beautiful sky with clouds, these and others are a reflection of God’s beautiful creation. But it also make me think and perhaps you as well, the Bible teaches us how to live by the example of Jesus Christ, He loved the poor, reached out to the sick, and forgave those who hurt him, even when he hung on the cross his words were “Father Forgive them” I ask myself why is it so hard to live like Jesus. Perhaps my soul becomes stress out in the heat of the moment, and instead of taking a moment to breathe in God’s grace and then breathe out praises, I just begin at times lashing out and not taking the time to stop and think.  When I stumble along my faith journey I try to remember to stop ask God for help, and the best way is just to stop and pray, simply talking with God. When I take the focus off of myself and turn to Jesus I see that my own way of thinking can be wrong and he will guide me back on course. And overtime my own reflection will be the reflection within my heart as I become more like Jesus.

Let Everything That Breathes Praise the Lord!

Psalm 150.pngPraise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power, praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise his with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.                                         Psalm 150

Sacrifice thank offering to God. Tell of his works with songs of joy!  Bearing your circumstances bravely even thanking God for them, which is the highest form or praise. God has been training you and I in the discipline of thankfulness for a long time. Yet we at times still find it hard to thank him for our own suffering or for others we know who are suffering. Sometimes we are able to do this, and when we do, we find that we become closer to God our Father. Thanking God for adversity requires a deep level of trust in his goodness, his mercy, and his love. People who are leaning on their own understanding cannot achieve this depth of trust. As you look to the scriptures to Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. We are learning to endure our circumstances bravely with thankfulness and we have experienced personal benefits from this. But there is more–much more! Your grateful acceptance of adversity has major repercussions far beyond ourselves :in heaven as well as on earth. Besides having Power to weaken spiritual stronghold of evil, your sacrifice of thanksgiving rings bells of joy throughout heavenly realms. On earth, our patient endure of suffering seeds out ripples of good tidings in every-widening circles to strengthen and encourage God’s people. So in every and all circumstances in your life or in mine we should always Praise the Lord!

Give Thanks To The Lord

1 Chronicles 16.pngGive thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Cry out, “Save Us. God our Savior; gather us and deliver us from the nations that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise.” Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.                                         1 Chronicles 16:35-36

Every time that we give thanks to God, we acknowledge that he is our Lord and Savior, our provider. And every time we receive with thanksgiving, we demonstrate our kinship with him. Yet even through we are his children, and we know we are supposed to give thanks in all circumstances, sometimes our words ring hollow. We say them without feeling the least bit thankful. It’s especially hard for us to be grateful in the midst of a bad day, when everything seems to be going wrong. God knows what goes on in our heart far better than we do. He knows when we feel thankful, and when we don’t. However, he can see in the depths of our hearts a desire to please him by offering thanks even when we don’t feel like it. When we struggle to be grateful, we need to stop and remember who God is the “Great I Am” of our life and of our faith. We are utterly dependent on God for everything, including our next breath. Every good gift is from God! When we thank God during a difficult day, we are assuming the proper stance for a child of God. If we are preserve in this thankfulness, resisting the temptation to grumble, we can find joy and praise in the midst of all of our struggles,

Storms

Psalm 107.jpgThen they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and be brought them out of their distress. He stilled the storm to a whisper, the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven. Let them give thanks to the Lord unfailing love, and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the council of the elders.   Psalm 107:28-32

There are so many times that the storms that we go thru are so very hard, they weight us down with worries, and at times cause emotional pain. Even when we share those problems with someone we called a friend it really doesn’t make us feel any better, all we can seem to say they just don’t understand what you are going thru, and too many times all they can do is simply judge us for any decision we have made. We look up to the heavens and ask God why must I endure these hard times, why can’t life be a little bit more easy to go thru, do you hear me God? do you care or even understand what I am dealing with right now? Once we seem to go thru with being angry at God for any difficult times you need to know that you can laid them all down to God in prayer. Even though there is no relief in sight, your trouble are actually light from an eternal perspective. Your problems feel so heavy because you have given them too much power. Each time you focus on them and forget about Jesus, you empower them a bit more. Jesus wants you and me to put all of our life troubles down long enough to view the vast expanse of Life that is spread out before you, all the way into eternity! Our problems feels like a big wave ready to crash down onto our world, but when we give all of the problems that we are carrying inside of us to Jesus, he calms those storms to give us his peace. The book of Psalm is filled with all the emotions that we seem to go thru each and everyday of our own lives, and once we go thru these difficult emotions we can begin to Praise our Lord thru the storms in our lives, because what I can tell each and everyone who reads these post is that Jesus does care what we go thru, he understands all the emotions we go thru as well, all we need to do is to bring them all to him so that he can calm all the storms we carry in our lives, and we do not need to.
