Carrying His Peace (Guess Blogger)

I would like to introduce to all you my fellow blogger Rebecca:

I’m a writer, Christian, I love music and art. I am hoping to encourage others, to inspire them to follow their dreams and trust Jesus. I am always working on improving my blog, keeping with the theme of teaching women to rest and be the beloved, and to depend on the mercy and grace of our Lord. It’s all for His glory. Thank you reading or following, blessings. https://www.pinterest.com/beckyspage1916/

Isn’t it nice to get rid of baggage and exchange it for His peace? It’s not fair is it but the Lord took it for me. I was so desperate for Jesus to heal me, to help me. I never knew what His peace really was. It is a gift, a precious gift. One of many the Lord blesses a believer with. I had been a believer a long time and still had no peace. I don’t think it was because I chose to be disobedient, it was more of a constant oppression and the many rejections I had faced.
Of course, I knew the Word, I knew how it applied to me. I was convinced I was doing something wrong, when, in truth, the enemy was walking off with a lot of blessings, not because I didn’t hold tight to them, or believe Jesus, but because I never knew what was against me.
I knew the Word said that if God was for me then who in the world was  going to stand in His way. Yet, there is that enemy back, sneaking in there with thoughts of unworthiness. The self deprecating sense of humor I used to laugh off the wisecracks made about me, wasn’t making me laugh it off. It was killing me.
Jesus did not see me the way others did. His thoughts are so much higher. I suppose that made me have high expectations of others, and when I did not fully understand grace, I would have held them to a higher account. I still will, but I have to remember that His mercies are new every morning. He never changes but we have to in order to be like Him.
But whether or not we receive it or recognize it, His peace is there. We carry it in us because the Holy Spirit is there, and if you have experienced being baptized in the Holy Spirit, it should be and even more and ever present peace.
It is like the joy Jesus gave us and said that no man takes it from you. It is true. No one can take Jesus from us. He will always be there, it is the enemy, the accuser, the devil, who attempts to derail God’s perfect plan for our lives.
We don’t have to let him if we recognize what he is. Fear, worry, torment, chaos and confusion. The troublemaker, the obnoxious, belligerent and angry one who keeps annoying us in hopes of us losing our joy and His peace.
I know I didn’t always recognize it but I do now. I’m standing firm in Jesus and I will not be shaken, He is my hiding place, my rock and fortress, my sun and my shield, my everlasting love, my eternal life.
Yes, Jesus is all that and so much more. I suppose I can write a blog for eternity if I have to and never sing His praises enough. Never let the wicked one tell you that as a believer in Christ, you are anything less that what He created you to be.
You are worthy, beloved, wonderfully made, God is our Father, He gave His Son freely for us so why would He not lavish love upon us. Stop carrying a cross and understand He was speaking to the disciples before the crucifixion, we are partakers of the resurrected Christ, God will know we are seated in heavenly places and be pleased with us not because of us but because of Jesus.
We can partake of His body and blood through Holy Communion. He carried a cross we could not bear. So we could carry His eternal life, His everlasting love, His joy. And most of all our hearts do not ever have to trouble us, because we carry His peace. Rebecca Jones

God’s Greatest Story of Grace (Guess Blogger)

I hope you are having a lovely day. I am extremely excited to be having a sweet sister in Christ share a beautiful blog post with you.  A little about Crystal:

Hi, I’m Crystal, I am wife to husband Michael, mother to 3 growing kids- Anna, Grace &

When I am not at home taking care of my family you will most often find me at my church. There I serve in AWANA as a leader and I am happy to help with anything else that needs to be done. I will join our ladies Bible study group as often as I can. I love to be able to dig into Scripture and share it with friends.

God’s Word is my greatest passion. I studied Theology (Bible) at Dallas Christian College where I had the best professors (I am a little partial) who not only taught me about the Bible but because of them, I fell in love with God’s Word. I enjoy drawing and painting when I can squeeze it in. When you mix a Bible student with an artist you get me, many of my recent paintings reflect whatever I was studying at the time. I am enjoying this because when I show my paintings I am then able to share my passion, God’s word.

God’s greatest story of grace the story of Salvation.

The Gospel is the most amazing story of love that you will ever find. It is simple enough for a child to understand and so that is how I am going to talk about it today. Not that you are a child but there is no point in making complicated what is simple.

God made everything, including you and me. In fact, we are God’s beloved creation made in His very image. He loves us deeper and wider then we can ever imagine.

The Bible is the story of His great love for us from Genesis to Revelation.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth – Genesis 1:1

You are worthy, our Lord and God to receive glory and honor and power for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being  -Revelation 4:11

no matter who you are you can see that this is an imperfect world. It is imperfect because of something the Bible calls sin; because of this sin we are separated from God because of sin we deserve to go to hell and be separated from God for eternity.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God  -Romans 3:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord  -Romans 6:23

God loves us so much the He sent Jesus.

Jesus was born of a virgin, a miraculous conception and the only way He could be born sinless.

Jesus did many signs and taught while He walked this earth proving that He is God.

He Chose the Nails

He chose the nails – for me & for you

He was betrayed by one of His closest friends. This was allowed so that He might be our perfect sacrifice taking the punishment we deserve for our sin.

Jesus was beaten and hung on a cross though He was the only one who has ever been and will ever be sinless.

After He died this horrible death, His body was then taken and placed in a nearby tomb, guarded by Roman soldiers. But just 3 days later something amazing happened, the tomb was opened reviling it was empty!

He is not Here!

He is not Here

Jesus had done what He said he would and rose from the dead!

He defeated the power of sin and death… He made away for us to be free and now able to join Him in heaven one day. There is nothing we can ever do to be good enough or pay for our own sin it is only through the shed blood of Jesus that we are forgiven.

For God so love the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life  -John 3:16

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this; While we were still sinners, Christ died for us – Romans 5:8

For by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift of God – not of works, so that no one can bost. -Ephesians 2:8-9

All we must do is believe and accept His free gift of eternal life.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. -John 14:6

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. -Romans 10:9

Gospel - ABCsYou may have grown up in church or maybe you have never walked through the doors of one it doesn’t matter, God loves you! He made away for you to live with Him eternally in Heaven.

I will ask you this one question; has there ever been a time when you have accepted this free gift of salvation from your sin?

If you have and know without a doubt that you are saved, great!

But, if do not know of a time that you have done that then allow me a minute here to explain how you can do just that.

You can simply pray,

God, I admit I am a sinner and I deserve to go to hell for my sin,
I believe that you sent Jesus and that He paid the price for my sin.
I chose today to accept the gift of salvation you have offered me
and want to live with you forever in Heaven.
Please forgive my sin, come into my life and change me,
teach me to follow you for the rest of my life.

in Jesus name Amen

If you have prayed this for the first time I encourage you to find someone you know is a Christian or just walk in the doors of a church, go tell someone.

I promise you there is nothing that will bring them greater joy then you sharing this. I would love to hear from you too!

I told you it is not complicated simple enough even a child can understand and yet it is the greatest story of grace ever told. God loved us so much that He made a way to save us from our own sin and now He offers us the gift of salvation.

I was a young girl when I accepted this gift. I will share my story of salvation next time.

Be sure to check out Crystal’s blog.

Among The Thorns

Mark 4.png

Jesus always talked in parables as he preaches to his disciples and others, then Jesus said to them. “Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand the word? Some people are like seed along the path where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes the word that was sown in them. Others like seed sown in rocky places, hear the word and at once receive it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word, but the worries of this life the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word making it unfruitful. Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop, some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times what was sown.” Mark 4:13-20

The third kind of soil was overgrown with thorns. This Palestinian farmer was lazy. He cut down the thorn bushes, so the land looked clean and the thorns seemed to be destroyed, but the roots were still there. As time passed, the thorn bushes grew back to their former abundance. The weeds grew so quickly and zealously that they choked the life out of the seed. It is easy to cram life with so many interests that there is no time for Christ. The more complicated our life becomes, the more necessary it is to get our priorities right.
Finally, there is the seed that is sown in “good soil” so that it can thrive. If we really want to learn from this parable, there are a few things we must do. We must hear, and we can’t hear unless we listen. We are often so busy talking and arguing that we forget to listen. It is necessary that we receive the message, it must be absorbed by our thoughts. Then we must put into action. The harvest was thirty, sixty, and even hundredfold. It was asking a lot, but the volcanic soil in Galilee was very fertile. Christian faith must always culminate in action. The Christian is challenged, not to speculate, but to act. Sow the seed and leave the rest to God. Then you are sure of the harvest.

Are You Listening!

1 Samuel 3.pngThe boy Samuel ministered before the Lord under Eli. In those days the word of the Lord was rare; there were not many visions. One night Eli, whose eyes were becoming so weak that he could barely see, was lying down in his usual place. The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the house of the Lord, where the ark of God was. Then the Lord called Samuel. Samuel answered, Here I am. And he ran to Eli and said Here I am; you called me.” But Eli said, “I did not call, go back and lie down.” So he went back and lay down/ Again the Lord called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.” My son, Eli said, I did not called; go back and lie down.” Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord. The word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him. A third time the Lord called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.” Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he called you, say, “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.” So Samuel went and lay down in his place. The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”                                          ( I Samuel 3:1-10)

Samuel said to the Lord, speak for your servant is listening. How often as Christians do we say these words to the Lord, Lord we are listening, and at times we are not truly listening at all, our minds are in too many other places. Perhaps the reason is that we have over commit ourselves in our lives. As adults when we begin to work, we go out with friends to have a good time because we feel with the hard work we have done we deserve some down time, some fun. On our journey in life we may get married and begin our own family and we still don’t seem to have the time to be still and listen for the voice of God. As our children start school with continue to be over worked, and over committed with all the extra school activities, as well as the many things we committed to do within our own church. And through our lives we as Christians forgot an important step we learn in the beginning of our Christian walk, which can be found in the book of Psalm 46:10 (one of my favorites) ‘BE STILL, AND KNOW THAT I AM, GOD” We have forgotten what it means to be quiet long enough to hear the voice of God in our lives. How can we possibly know what God’s will is for our own lives if we don’t become quiet. As parents or not when we have something  important to say to someone we ask them to be quiet to listen, correct!. So why doesn’t God deserve the same thing from us, and that is to be still and quiet. In the book of Isaiah 11:6 a young child shall lead them, Samuel was a young boy when he first heard God calling him, speak Lord your servant is listening. We need to slow down in our lives and just listen, just as you would listen to the birds singing, children laughing, because when we do we can truly know what God, the creator of our universe just might be saying to us. Are you truly listening for the voice of God today?

Sowing Seeds

John 4a.pngMeanwhile Jesus disciples urged him, “Rabbi eat something.” But he said to them.” I have food to eat that you know mothing about.” Then his disciples said to each other, “Could someone have brought him food?” My food, said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his word. Don’t you have a saying. ‘It’s still four months until harvest? I tell you, open your e4yes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. Even now the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true. I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.                                Matthew 4:31-38

I began to teach Sunday School in my early twenties because I remember many who has touch my own life in my journey of faith. As I became an adult I felt it was really important to plant the seeds of God’s love in children. So between teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for almost twenty years I had the opportunity with God’s help to share his love. No I most likely never see those seeds that I have planted come into harvest time, but to me it doesn’t matter because God does. Especially during that one week in the summer is always a great opportunity to plant seeds, my church most times would have more than one hundred children each day during VBS. As a leader or a teacher or a helper we truly don’t know what a child maybe faces in their own lives, and all they longer to know is this “Does Anyone Love Me”  If we as adults in the world today would stop and take a good look of how to sow the seeds of Christ into our children and other children, perhaps maybe then our children in this world would come to have a walk with Jesus Christ each and everyday, they will know that they will always have a best friend that would never let them down, rejected them in anyway. And when we begin to do this perhaps just maybe our children would not look to have sex at an early age, begin to smoke cigarettes, begin to drink, start to use drugs because when they find the missing link, the missing puzzle part in their puzzle of life which is Jesus Christ, “The Great I Am” the will come to love themselves as Christ loves them and then they too can love one another and begin to sow the seeds of Christ into the hearts of the next generation.

There is Always Hope With God

1 Peter.jpgAll people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field, the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever. 1 Peter 1:24-25

Tradition and the letter itself identify the apostle Peter as the author of this book, a pastoral address to the house-churches scattered across five Roman provinces. The early Christians often met violent opposition, and Peter’s letter comforted and encouraged Christians who were being persecuted for their faith. It is hard to believe that even today their are many Christians being persecuted and also dying for their belief in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior however it is true. As you read the book of 1 Peter who is telling us: Therefore with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do, for it is written: Be holy, because I am holy. 1 Peter 1:13-16

Jesus gives you and me hope-hope that the best part of our lives is not behind you but rather right in front of you. It stretches out before you gloriously into an eternity of experiences that will get better and better. For now, through, you inhabit a world of death, sorrow, crying and pain. Let the hope of heaven empower you to live well in this broken world that is passing away. In heaven, he will wipe away every tear from your eyes-permanently! If this world were all there is, it would be tragic beyond description. When the day of the Lord comes, and believe me it will come. Jesus will replace this world and make all things new with all of his followers who will live forever with him in ceaseless ecstasy.  Let this hope give you courage to keep holding your head up high as you endure any suffering and pain. The best part of our lives truly lies ahead-stored up for us in heaven. This is true for all of us Christians both young and old. As we grow older and deal with many things such as poor health let us remember that Jesus walks besides us every step of the way. Our spiritual life can open up even wider as your soul grows strong in the light of Jesus’ presence, and when the day comes for us when we see him face to face-what a glorious day that will be.

Brokenhearted

Psalm 147.jpgSo many times in our lives we have a broken-heart,rather it is from a relationship such as friends, marriage, children, a job, or any kind of a situation and anything that involves another person (persons) that has left us feeling broken inside. For me when I am going thru those difficult times where it seems the world is crashing down on me I have learn to open the word of God and I begin to search the scriptures and begin asking God for directions and to easy the pain that I feel deep inside of me, even when I myself do not fully understand everything. This is when I open to the book of Psalm where King David had written many of the chapters in Psalm.

Praise the Lord, How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him! The builds up Jerusalem, he gathers the exiles of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of stars and call them each by name. Great is our Lord and mighty in power, his understanding has no limit. The Lord sustains the humble but cats the wicked to the ground. Sing to the Lord with grateful praise, make music to our God on the harp. He covers the sky with clouds, he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills. He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call. His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior; the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.            Psalm 147:1-11

I do not know or can I truly understand everything that happens to me or the people I have come to know and love. But this I do know is that God knows and sees all, he knows how many hair strands that is on our head, their is nothing that has happen or will happen that he doesn’t know about. His unfailing love for his children is so hard for us to even comprehend, I can see all around in my own life his love for me as his own child, and for that I continue to Praise His Name. When I realize that my heart has become broken even for a short while ( a season) I begin to sing Praise of Worship to God and God along, so that any problem and all my problems seems to be so small, and when I do this my Joy for God once again returns to my soul.
