A Cup Each Morning

Psalm 5.png

In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice, in the morning I lay my request before you and wait expectantly.                              Psalm 5:3-4

The alarm rings. As our minds wake from the fuzziness of slumber, thoughts of the day come rushing in, as we go over what needs to be done. The day ahead may hold some unpleasant tasks; perhaps our to do list is so long it makes us tired before we can even begin. In any case, some mornings, we’d rather stay in bed so we don’t have to face the day at all.

Can you even imagine instead of the same way,  begin your day before your alarm goes off, grab that cup of coffee, tea, or cold drink, get to your comfy place with your Bible and begin your day with a cup of Christ. The words of Beth Moore (founder of Living Proof Ministries) Imagine how different our days would be if we had our cups filled by Christ first thing in the morning. When Christ fills our cups, He gives us His love, joy, peace and patience. We’re able to be kind, good, faithful, gentle. (The fruits of the Spirit which can be found in the book of Galatians 5:22-23) A little self-control might come in handy at an opportune moment as well.

Invite Jesus into your thoughts by whispering his name, and then suddenly your day brightens and feels more user-friendly. When you speak Jesus’ name in loving trust, you sense His presence and feel yourself drawing closer to him. There is great power in His name: Simply whispering Jesus, can turn a hard day into a good one. By calling on his name frequently, you acknowledge your continual need of him. His very being, Jesus is joyfully responding to your invitation by coming nearer to you.

Jesus is pleased by your desire to rely on him in ordinary moments as well as in the big events in your life. When you whisper Jesus, Jesus, he respond not only to your neediness but also to your love for him. As you look to him, his face shines upon you in radiant approval brightening your day and helping you feel secure. What a wonderful way to start off each and everyday with a cup full from Christ.

Comfort For The Future

Revelation 21.pngAnd I heard a loud voice from the throne saying. “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them They will be his people and God himself will be with them and be their God.                     Revelation 21:3

In our day fear has cast a very dark shadow over the future. On the international scene there is ever-increasing tension, clashes between races and the seeming inability of leaders to handle even the most basic issues cause people to wonder what kind of world awaiting their children and grandchildren. It is impossible not to personalize national and international affairs, because of necessity you are part of humanity.

To be sheltered n the living Christ elevates your view above the temporal, giving you an exceptional appreciation of life. You realize that the times you live in, regardless of how tense and ominous they might appear, are still under God’s control. The Lord God Almighty still reigns and has not rejected His creation.

If you do believe in the omnipotence of God and if your faith is built on a steadfast foundation, it will have practical results in creating a positive attitude in your life. You will not fear the extinction of mankind, but rather believe in God’s redemptive work that will come to fulfillment in mankind.

To believe that God is working out His divine plan with us, is spite of our sin, enables us to maintain a well-balanced and calm attitude. The choice is yours, you can look to the future without God and experience depression and fear, or you can believe in God’s plan of redemption and approach the future comforted, and with trust.

God’s Master Piece!

Psalm 19The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech, night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words, no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.  It is like a bridegroom coming out of the chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other, nothing is deprived of its warmth.                                             Psalm 19:1-6

I am blessed to live in the county because on a clear night with not one cloud in sight this is the beauty that I look up to and I am totally amaze by it. Take a good look at the picture above of all the stars in the sky. Just think of it for a moment, this is the beauty that God the God of the universe created for mankind to enjoy all of its beauty. This is so much better than television, and computer or anything that we try to replace it with. If there comes a time in your life when you begin to doubt for any reason if God is real, take a ride to the mountains and you will begin to see the beauty that he has created for us. Try to see thru the eyes of a child the beauty in this world, yes I know that mankind has turn somethings terrible, but you need to look past all of the horrible things and the hatred and begin to see the beauty. When you can lay in the grass look up and be amaze at this beauty, look at the different clouds and try to make different shapes in your eyes like a little child and then your doubt is no more.

Trust

Psalm 5.jpgLay your request before God and wait in expectation. Waiting and trusting so closely connected. The more we trust you God, the more we can wait with a positive attitude. Meeting God each morning is a profound demonstration of our trusting him. This practice helps us begin the day with a thankful heart, receiving it as a precious gift from God. Waiting in His presence has beneficial side effects, so we do not need to be overly focused on getting the answers we seek. Your holy light we relate to you as creature to Creator, as clay to Potter. This humbles us and helps us to worship you, as you truly are.

Lord I sit in your presence and the peace that you give to me within my heart calms my soul. I hear the music within my soul and it dances for you and praising your unending love for me as your child. Thank you for your many blessings, at times it just doesn’t seem to be enough for me to say, however I continue to rejoice always in who you are The Great I Am. Continue to guide me in all that I do so that I will bring glory to your name, so that others will come to know you thru me as your servant. Thank you Lord for being in your presence each and every morning and thru out my day.

I AM THE GOOD SHEPHERD

I Am The Good Shepherd.png As we continue the series by Lysa Terkeust we come to read the next thing Jesus tells his disciples and others. “I am the good shepherd” The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, I know my sheep and my sheep knows me and I know the Father–and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”                                                         ( John 10:14-18 NIV)

Lysa tells us as we dig deeper into the Greek word of good in John 10:14, we find that it is not simply the opposite of bad. This specific word kalos also holds the connotation of noble, honorable, worthy. It points us to a sense of awe that suggest Christ is not just good, but He is captivating and deserves praise. As we consider what the Good and Great Shepherd does, we can be encouraged in knowing that He is the perfect shepherd we are His sheep are drawn to follow. Not only is Jesus the Good Shepherd who gives and lays down His life for his people, but He is also the Gate for the people of God to access and enter into the presence of God. Jesus gives us access to the Father so that we can live in intimacy and relationship with Him. Perhaps you feel like you are wandering this world with no shepherd, no one to guide or invest in you. Please know that Jesus himself wants to be your Shepherd. And not just any shepherd—but the Good Shepherd.

Quality Time With God

Revelation .png

If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him and he with Me.                                       Revelation 3:20

We live in a world this days we are forever rushing around. We seem to have too much on our plate, over committed is one problem as well as so many, keeping our children busy with after school activities with sports, scouts, dance class and so much more. We feel as parents if we do these things if will help in the long run with perhaps a scholarship for college at a good school. For the most part many families don’t take the time to sit and have a meal together without the television on, just to have good conversation with all. For myself as my children continue to grow and turn into young adults I have always value dinner time with them. Sitting around the dinner table and sharing about their day of the things that happen in school. But as I sit here on my back deck enjoying God’s beauty I wonder, do we have enough quality time with God? Are we just too busy that our scripture reading and our pray time with God has truly suffer, we seam to spent a quick few minutes and then onto the next thing. We wonder why we have become so stress out with life these days. We need to take a deep breath and breathe in God’s beautiful Grace, and then ex-hale Praise to our Heavenly Father. If we get up perhaps fifteen minutes early in the morning, or in the evening skip watch a television show we can find the time to spent with God. By doing this believe me when I tell you that you will find that you are less stress with life, and remember that their is Nothing that You and God together can’t handle.

A Morning Meditation

Psalm 3.png

God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging

 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
 God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Come and see what the Lord has done,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
 He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields
[d] with fire.
 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.                       (Psalm 46)

Lord as I read these words from the book of Psalm in which King David wrote many chapters, and I think these words sound a lot like what I am going thru and trying to make sense of it all. You Lord are my refuge and strength, especially when I am hurting deep down and I just want to run and hide, hide from all people.  People  who seems to only want to be my personal judge and jury and the ones that for some reason can not find a kind word to share. I know that you Lord understand my pain and the ache in my heart all I seem to do is feel the tears of sadness running down my face. The tears that each night and morning are on my pillow and wondering when will this pain finally go away.  As I read this chapter in Psalm I stubble on verse ten, when you say Be Still and Know that I am God. You are God, Oh Lord, your are the Great I am, the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. You know me even better than I know myself, and you knew me long before I was in my mother’s womb.

You have search me, Lord and you know me, you know when I sit and when I rise, you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down, you are familiar with all my ways.

Where can I go from your Spirit? Where I can flee from your presence? If I go up to heaven you are there, if I make my bed in the depths you are there, You are everywhere Oh Lord, do not leave me or ever forsake me, for I am your child, your daughter and I forever will Praise Your Name.
